UK warns China: do not destroy the jewel of

China’s parliament last week approved a
decision to create laws for Hong Kong to curb
sedition, secession, terrorism and foreign
interference. Mainland security and intelligence
agents may be stationed in the city for the
first time.

The British government announced that it was
considering granting citizenship to the nearly
three million residents of Hong Kong. The move
infuriated China, which fears a massive brain
drain from Hong Kong that would jeopardize
the city's role as a global financial and

India to join a leaders summit now postponed
to September.

on a permanent basis by the chair of the group,
currently the United States, an EU spokesman
said on Tuesday.

the United States. On Monday, Iran’s media
pushed stories that highlighted the “collapse,”
while quoting Russian sources portraying that
the US is flailing about as its world order comes
crashing down.

machines, tables and people,” Rich Garella, of
the voting rights group Protect Our Vote Philly,
said of one south Philadelphia location.

“I stood across the street and saw how the
crowds are breaking into my pharmacy. We
spoke to the police officers and asked them to
do something but they said that their main
concern is to control the damage to life more
than to property,” said Jonathan Friedman,
whose Los Angeles pharmacy was broken
into and looted. “The damage to the place is
huge. They stole all the narcotics and damaged
the floors and entrance. I estimate the damage
is over $100,000.”
