Though many Americans dismiss Hamas as
a fringe element in the Middle East, an expert
explains that the terrorist organization who
pledged to annihilate all the Jews has already
firmly established itself in the U.S….at taxpayer
expense. The implied death threat included
the Muslim leaders of Egypt and Saudi Arabia,”
Dr. Kedar said. “Hamas considers them to be
traitors to Islam.”
Analysis: Do Palestinians even want a state?
History says no
Taking into account all the peace initiatives
proposed to end the conflict between the
Jews and the Palestinian Arabs over the
last 83 years, we must consider the
possibility that the Palestinians — or at
least their leaders — do not want to
establish their own state. Their sight is
currently set on the big prize — the
entire state of Israel — and they are
playing for time.
If Russia can’t curb Iran in Syria, the Saudis
ask: How can Israel?
The Saudi paper Sharq al-Awsat reported on
Feb. 15 that the Russians had given up on
curbing Iran’s military presence in Syria. It
cited Saudi intelligence sources in eastern
Syria where the Saudis took control of Syria’s
eastern oil region in December under the US
aegis. Those sources wonder how Israel can
hope to succeed where the Russians have
failed.
Iran: US sanctions 'create some problems';
talks possible with conditions
The U.S. "maximum pressure" policy aimed
at isolating Iran will not work, but the regime
would be willing to negotiate if the Trump
administration returns to the Iranian nuclear
deal and drops economic sanctions, President
Hassan Rouhani said Sunday.
Libya's rival factions dig in for long conflict
Libya's combatants are readying for a long
conflict, as foreign weapons flood in,
eastern factions close oil ports and rival
alliances wrangle over revenues from
Africa's largest petroleum reserves.
…..The moves signal deepening animosity
in a war that could worsen regional instability
and swell the flow of migrants from the
Middle East and Africa almost a decade after
Muammar Gaddafi’s fall in 2011.
…..From his large villa in Libya’s east, tribal
leader Sanoussi al-Zwai sees plenty more
trouble ahead for the huge country, for years
contested by two rival authorities in the east
and west.
China Appoints New Hong Kong Chief
Known for Christian Persecution
In the midst of fighting the Coronavirus
epidemic, China has announced that it will
put Xia Baolong, previously known for
removing thousands of crosses from
churches in Zhejiang province, in charge
of the cabinet-level office that oversees
Hong Kong and Macau affairs
Japan’s GDP Is Collapsing, And Experts
Are Warning That China Will Be Next
Global economic conditions are really
starting to deteriorate quite rapidly.
Economists were projecting that Japan’s
GDP would shrink by 3.8 percent on an
annualized basis in the fourth quarter,
but instead it greatly surpassed
expectations by plunging 6.3 percent.
If Japan’s GDP falls again during the
first quarter of 2020, and thanks to the
coronavirus outbreak that seems very
likely, then the world’s third largest
economy will officially be in a recession.
But of course the outlook for China is
even worse.
