Now researchers at Ben-Gurion University
of the Negev (BGU) in Beersheba add a new
word of caution for the billions of users of
Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. That video or
picture you “liked” on social media of a cute pet,
your favorite sports team or political candidate
can actually be altered in a cyberattack to
something completely different, detrimental and
potentially criminal, according to cybersecurity
researchers at BGU who studied seven online
platforms and identified similar serious
weaknesses in the management of the posting
systems. Although Twitter doesn’t permit
changes to posts and, normally, Facebook and
LinkedIn indicate that a post has been edited,
this new attack overrides that. “Imagine
watching and ‘liking’ a cute kitty video in your
Facebook feed, and a day later a friend calls
to find out why you ‘liked’ a video of an ISIS
execution,” said Dr. Rami Puzis of the
university’s department of software and
information systems engineering.
Israel said to warn Hamas against
disrupting world leaders’ Holocaust
gathering
Israel has warned Hamas that it will respond
forcefully to any attempt to disrupt this week’s
summit of world leaders in Jerusalem, and will
not hesitate to strike the terror group in the
Gaza Strip in response to such provocations,
regardless of the intensified international focus,
according to a report Monday.
Israel, United Kingdom building 'new strategic
relationship'
The Brexit referendum and ensuing uncertainty
has seemingly not dampened the trading spirit,
with Israel becoming the first country to sign
a post-Brexit continuity trade agreement
with the UK.
Putin To Cut Short His Upcoming Visit To
Israel Next Week From 1 Week To 1 Day
Most will find little or no significance in this
headline. However, it could be more
significant than we think, and Putin’s (Russia’s)
decision may be related to the same reasons
the U.S. recently decided to withdraw its forces
from the scheduled NATO war drills in Norway
to prepare for possible upcoming events in the
Middle-East.
French President Emmanuel Macron
lands in Israel for World Holocaust
Forum
Foreign Minister Israel Katz met Macron at
Ben Gurion Airport and thanked him for
coming. "The arrival of leaders from all
around the world symbolizes their
commitment to remember the Holocaust
and fight against antisemitism," said Katz.

The United States urged China on Tuesday
to join trilateral nuclear arms talks with
Moscow, calling Beijing's secrecy around
growing stockpiles a "serious threat to
strategic stability."
Best path to a younger flock? Church
asks older members to worship
elsewhere
A prayer for survival rose from the back of
the church last Sunday. “I pray for this church,
getting through this age-discrimination thing,”
said William Gackstetter, as the gray-haired
heads around him nodded in agreement.
Gackstetter and other members of the Grove
United Methodist Church in Cottage Grove are
upset enough that their church is closing in June.
What makes it worse is that their church is
reopening in November — pretty much without
them. The church wants to attract more young
families. The present members, most of them
over 60 years old, will be invited to worship
somewhere else. A memo recommends that
they stay away for two years, then consult
the pastor about reapplying. Officials say the
church needs a reset, and reopening the
church is the best way to appeal to younger
people.
