Jordan has expanded a council that administers
Muslim institutions on the Temple Mount, giving
Palestinians 40 percent of the seats for the first
time in a body previously reserved for trusted
individuals close to the monarchy of Jordanian
King Abdullah Hussein.

The Palestinians entered the site, also known as
the Gate of Mercy, despite reports that Israel and

The United States Consulate General in Jerusalem,
which serves Palestinians, will be absorbed into the
new US Embassy to Israel in March, a US official
said on Tuesday, giving a date for a merger that
has been condemned by Palestinians. "The merger
of the consulate and the embassy will take place on
March 4th or 5th, at which point the position of the
consul-general will end, said the US official, who
spoke on condition of anonymity because the date
has not been announced yet by Washington.
FACING AN AGGRESSIVE BEIJING, Taiwan's president
issues a warning to the world
Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen has sent out a warning
to Asia in the face of mounting aggression from Beijing.
In an exclusive interview with CNN, Tsai said the military
threat posed by China was growing "every day" in line
with a more assertive foreign policy under its President
Xi Jinping. "If it's Taiwan today, people should ask who's
next? Any country in the region -- if it no longer wants to
submit to the will of China, they would face similar military
threats," said Tsai.
KIM JONG UN goes after opponents of US-Korea ties with
jail and executions, report says
Between 50 and 70 people have been targeted in what the
state-run media is depicting as an effort to combat corruption,
The Journal said. Kim is also seizing the assets of North Korea’s

VENEZUELA CRISIS: Brazil vows to deliver aid, defying Maduro
Brazil says it will send humanitarian aid to its border with
Venezuela by the weekend, despite the protests of embattled
President Nicolás Maduro. The delivery and distribution of the
aid is being organized by Venezuelan opposition leader Juan
Guaidó, the Brazilian presidential spokesman said. Mr. Maduro
denies there is a crisis in Venezuela and calls the growing aid
operation a US-orchestrated show.

The Yellowstone volcano could force planes travelling
over Wyoming, Idaho and Montana to "suddenly nosedive"

supervolcano somewhere on Earth erupting by the end of

untamed beast waiting to let loose across America.
