Hamas terrorist, the journalists are to avoid mentioning that and instead
report about his having been a beloved husband, father and community
member.
Are not Fatah and Abbas receiving financial aid from the US and EU
because of their presumed support for a peace process with Israel? Why
should the Americans and Europeans be supporting a Palestinian faction "
whose journalists openly incite against their Israeli colleagues?
TURKEY PRESIDENT ERDOGAN calls snap election in June

Turkey will hold snap presidential and parliamentary elections on
24 June, brought forward by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan from
November 2019. He has run Turkey since 2002 and will seek five
more years with beefed up powers approved in a referendum last year.
The idea of an early poll was initially proposed by nationalist allies.
Mr. Erdogan said in televised speech the country needed the new
election to rid it of the diseases of the old system.

The number of reported hate crimes in Toronto, Canada, jumped by
28 percent in 2017 compared to 2016, to the latest report from the
Toronto Police Hate Crimes Unit. In all, 186 hate motivated
occurrences were recorded, with mischief to property offences
like vandalism and graffiti accounting for much of the spike.

Aerial photos have captured odd gatherings of almost 1,400 basking
sharks and researchers are not totally sure what it is the animals are
up to. It is not uncommon to see the sharks individually but seeing
them in large groups is rare.
NORTH CAROLINA CITY BANS police exchanges with Israel

The resolution, which states that the council opposes international
exchanges with any country in which Durham officers receive military
style training since such exchanges do not support the kind of policing
we want here in the City of Durham, was approved by the council in a
6 to 0 vote Monday night. It is the first city in the United States to
officially ban such training, according to Jewish Voice for Peace, which
actively worked to pass the resolution.
