During the Jewish holiday of Sukkot in October 2015, thousands of evangelical Christians wave
Israeli, American and other national flags as they march in a Jerusalem parade as part of the
International Christian Embassy Jerusalems (ICEJ) Feast of Tabernacles festivities.

Christian visitors to Israel will help boost tourism to record highs in the coming year, with
Tourism Minister Yariv Levin expecting nearly 4 million total tourists in 2018, a half a
million more than visited Israel this year.

Approximately 3.5 million visitors flocked to the Holy Land in 2017, with that number up
from 2.8 million only two years ago. The Tourism Ministry is making a concentrated push
towards focusing on Christian pilgrims, said Levin on Tuesday, investing in bringing pastors
and other Evangelical leaders to Israel in hopes they will bring back the message of the Holy
Land to their people, who will then come.

    RUSSIA
    Russian parliament launches presidential campaign

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/world...=.8d9a3a5d7a88

Russian lawmakers on Friday set the presidential election for March 18, a move that sets in motion
campaigning for a race that President Vladimir Putin is all but certain to win.

Putin declared his intention to run for another six year term last week, ending months of speculation
about motives behind the delay. He enjoys approval ratings above 80 percent, while his most visible
adversary, anti corruption crusader Alexei Navalny, has declared his intention to run but a criminal
conviction bars him from doing so.

Fridays decision by the upper house of parliament, the Federation Council, will set the campaign
in motion starting Monday, the day it will be published in a government daily. Candidates will
then submit their documents to register, a process that will last through Feb. 2.

China says war must not be allowed on Korean peninsula

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-n...KBN1E81R0?il=0

The crisis over North Koreas weapons programs must be resolved through talks, not war, Chinese
President Xi Jinping said on Thursday, while U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres warned of
the danger of SLEEPWALKING into conflict.

Xi made his comments to visiting South Korean President Moon Jaein after U.S. Secretary of State
Rex Tillerson offered on Tuesday to begin direct talks with North Korea without preconditions.

But the White House said on Wednesday that no negotiations could be held until North Korea
    improved its behavior.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tillersons offer of direct contacts with North Korea was a
very good signal while warning that any U.S. strike on the country would have catastrophic
    consequences.

Lawmakers in Peru initiated proceedings Friday to oust President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, who
refuses to resign after being accused of failing to disclose decade old payments from a Brazilian
company embroiled in Latin Americas biggest corruption scandal.

In a brief session, 27 of 130 members of Congress put forward a request to consider impeaching
the former Wall Street banker for permanent moral incapacity. Lawmakers could summon
Kuczynski to defend himself before Congress as early as next week.

US Vice President Mike Pence will visit the Western Wall in Jerusalem as his first stop during his
upcoming visit to Israel next week.

The full itinerary of the vice presidential trip will be published Thursday evening.

Pence first visit to Israel since assuming office in January was delayed by several days in order to
allow him to participate in the Senate vote on a Republican tax bill on Sunday. He will arrive in
Israel on Wednesday afternoon and, at his own request, drive straight to Jerusalem and pray at
    the Western Wall.

Imam in Arabic calls for Israels destruction

    http://www.wnd.com/2017/12/texas-ima...ion-in-arabic/

Following President Trump recognition of Jerusalem as Israel capital, a Texas based Islamic
cleric has posted a recorded prayer on his Facebook page calling for Israel destruction, along
with their allies, and those who assist them and those who allowed them into the abodes of
    the Muslims.

    Sheikh Ramadan Elsabagh

While Sheikh Ramadan Elsabagh does not mention Trumps Wednesday proclamation, the
Investigative Project on Terrorism which translated the message from Arabic interprets it
    as a clear reaction,

Elsabagh is listed as the head of the Islamic Services Foundation Quran Institute in Garland,
Texas and is featured as a Quran reader on many Internet sites. His YouTube pages have tens
of thousands of views. His recitations are also featured in Google Play and iTunes.
