Terror, Anti-Semitism Alerts Here and Abroad
As the Muslim month of Ramadan gets underway, alerts of potential terrorist attacks increase in Israel, the US and elsewhere. And the UK's Chief Rabbi released an alert about British anti-Semitism.

Both Israel and the Jews are being blamed for the continuing, rapid global changes, placing the Jews in the role of scapegoat for Islamic terrorism, said Britain's chief rabbi, Sir Jonathan Sacks, in an interview this week with the Jewish Chronicle newspaper. In particular, Rabbi Sacks warned of increasing anti-Semitism in his country, stating that, for the 1st time he remembers, it is "uncomfortable to be a Jew in Britain." As worrying signs of the hostile climate, the rabbi cited recent calls to abolish Holocaust Memorial Day, a call for divestment from Israel and the academic boycott against Israel...

How a Mosque for Ex-Nazis Became Center of Radical Islam
Documents Reveal Triumph By Muslim Brotherhood In Postwar Munich

    [Exerpts]

MUNICH, Germany -- North of this prosperous city of engineers and auto makers is an elegant mosque with a slender minaret and a turquoise dome. A stand of pines shields it from a busy street. In a country of more than three million Muslims, it looks unremarkable, another place of prayer for Europe's fastest-growing religion.

The Mosque's history, however, tells a more-tumultuous story. Buried in government and private archives are hundreds of documents that trace the battle to control the Islamic Center of Munich. Never before made public, the material shows how radical Islam established one of its first and most important beachheads in the West when a group of ex-Nazi soldiers decided to build a mosque.

The soldiers' presence in Munich was part of a nearly forgotten subplot to World War II: the decision by tens of thousands of Muslims in the Soviet Red Army to switch sides and fight for Hitler. After the war, thousands sought refuge in West Germany, building one of the largest Muslim communities in 1950s Europe. When the Cold War heated up, they were a coveted prize for their language skills and contacts back in the Soviet Union. For more than a decade, U.S., West German, Soviet and British intelligence agencies vied for control of them in the new battle of democracy versus communism.

Yet the victor wasn't any of these Cold War combatants. Instead, it was a movement with an equally powerful ideology: the Muslim Brotherhood. Founded in 1920s Egypt as a social-reform movement, the Brotherhood became the fountainhead of political Islam, which calls for the Muslim religion to dominate all aspects of life. A powerful force for political change throughout the Muslim world, the Brotherhood also inspired some of the deadliest terrorist movements of the past quarter century, including Hamas and al Qaeda.

The story of how the Brotherhood exported its creed to the heart of Europe highlights a recurring error by Western democracies. For decades, countries have tried to cut deals with political Islam -- backing it in order to defeat another enemy, especially communism. Most famously, the U.S. and its allies built up mujahadeen holy warriors in 1980s Afghanistan to fight the Soviet Union -- paving the way for the rise of Osama bin Laden, who quickly turned on his U.S. allies in the 1990s.

Munich was a momentous early example of this dubious strategy. Documents and interviews show how the Muslim Brotherhood formed a working arrangement with U.S. intelligence organizations, outmaneuvering German agencies for control of the former Nazi soldiers and their mosque. But the U.S. lost its hold on the movement, and in short order conservative, arch-Catholic Bavaria had become host to a center of radical Islam.

Political and social groups affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood now dominate organized Islamic life across a broad swath of Western Europe. These connections are frequently little known, even by the intelligence services and police agencies of these countries

New Orleans Mayor Proposes Gambling Bounce-Back
Mayor Ray Nagin on Friday proposed Las Vegas-style gambling in the city's larger hotels as a way to revitalize New Orleans' shattered economy after Hurricane Katrina. "Now is the time for us to think out of the box. Now is the time for some bold leadership, some decisive leadership," he said. The plan — which would need the approval of the Louisiana Legislature — calls for a large-scale gambling district along Canal Street. Nagin said gambling should be allowed in hotels that have more than 500 rooms.

Nagin raised his proposal after Katrina virtually destroyed all 13 dockside casinos on the nearby Mississippi Gulf Coast. Mississippi lawmakers have passed a bill allowing the casino operators to rebuild on dry land.

Third Man in Iraq Arrested in NYC Subway Plot
The investigation into the terrorist threat to bomb city subways moved forward on several fronts Friday as a suspect was arrested in Iraq and authorities looked into whether another had traveled to New York as part of the plot, officials said. Alarmed by the informant's report of a plot to attack city subways with as many as 19 bombs in bags and possibly baby strollers, U.S. forces in Iraq arrested two suspected plotters who had been under close surveillance until Thursday morning, officials said. The 3rd escaped until his arrest Friday.

Those arrested had received explosives training in Afghanistan, a law-enforcement official said Friday. They had planned to travel through Syria to New York, and then meet with an unspecified number of operatives to carry out the bombings. The official said the threat was "specific to place," and that the window for the attack was anywhere from Friday through at least the weekend.

    Princes of Darkness
Ok, expand a bit on the specific ways in which the Saudi Arabian elite is an enemy of the West in general and of the U.S. in particular.
(Wow! This is worth the read, explaining so much about the behind the scenes truths on Islam & the Princes working together, but each living out their own part of the plan to Islamicize everything, with the original, true Islam. And the article made that important comment about how in ENGLISH sweet, sugary words are heard for the world, while in Arabic and to their own people, vile-hate & Jihad toward Christians, Jews, & the US are spread. Wake up world.)

    Vatican Won't Ban Gay Priests
An upcoming church document does not decree a sweeping ban on gays in seminaries, allowing those who have lived chastely for at least 3 years to become priests, a senior Vatican official said Friday.

Empowering the UN in the Guise of Reform
Last month at its "World Summit" in New York, the United Nations took another big step toward destroying national sovereignty - a step that could threaten the United States in the future. The UN passed a resolution at this summit that, among other things, establishes a "Peacebuilding Commission," creates a worldwide UN "democracy fund," and most troublingly codifies the dangerous "Responsibility to Protect" report as part of UN policy. The 3 are certainly interrelated. I have been concerned for some time about the establishment of a UN Peacebuilding Commission, an idea I first found so troubling when the International Relations Committee marked-up the UN Reform Act containing this provision earlier this year.

According to the UN, this commission will bring together the UN Security Council members, major donor states, major troop contributing countries, United Nations organizations, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund to develop and integrate conflict prevention, post-conflict reconstruction, and long-term development policies and strategies. The commission will serve as the key coordinating body for the design and implementation of military, humanitarian, and civil administration aspects of complex missions. Think of this as the core of a future UN army that will claim the right to intervene in any conflict anywhere.

Saudis host Hamas command center; Jailed Palestinian says terror headquarters plans, finances anti-Israel ops
A senior Hamas activist recently arrested in Jerusalem has revealed to Israeli police the terror group maintains an operations command center in Saudi Arabia that finances suicide bombings and important Hamas campaigns, security sources told WND. While Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups have been known to raise funds in Saudi Arabia, the existence of a Hamas terror control center in the kingdom is "disturbing news," said a security official.

Levitt pointed out: "Just last month, Saudi television ran a program on the jihad in Palestine that implored viewers to donate funds to the Palestinian intifada. A caption on the screen informed donors that they could send funds through ... [what was described as] a joint account at all Saudi banks. Meanwhile, a speaker instructed viewers, 'Jihad is the pinnacle of Islam.' He explained that the funds would go directly to those waging jihad, where it would, in his words, 'help them carry out this mission.'"

    Arabian Sex Tourism
Indian media have been publishing exposés documenting the foul behavior of Gulf Arabs in the southern Indian town of Hyderabad “Fly-by-night bridegrooms,” by R Akhileshwari in the Deccan Herald and “One minor girl, many Arabs,” by Mohammed Wajihuddin in the Times of India are two important examples...

The Arabs usually “marry” the girls for short periods, sometimes just a single night. In fact, Wajihuddin reports, marriage and divorce formalities are often prepared at the same time, thereby expediting the process for all involved. Akhileshwari notes that “their girl children are available for as little as 5,000 rupees to satisfy the lust of doddering old Arab men.” Five thousand rupees, by the way, equals just a bit over US$100...

Great White Shark Sets Ocean-Crossing Record
If there were Olympic marathons for fish, this South African entrant would have to be considered the favorite: The great white shark swam to Western Australia and back in 9 months. It's the fastest known back-and-forth crossing of an ocean by any marine organism. "This is the 1st individual fish that has been found to go across an entire ocean and come back to the same spot," said study leader Ramón Bonfil of the Wildlife Conservation Society.

Nicole took a fairly straight path to Australia, suggesting that great whites have outstanding navigational abilities. Migrating marine animals usually navigate using topographic features on the ocean floor, but the path Nicole took crossed very few of these.

Like a Hawk, Robotic Plane Rides Thermals
Hawks and eagles glide on currents of rising warm air called thermals to extend their flight time without needing more fuel. NASA aerospace engineer Michael Allen and a team of engineers working on the Autonomous Soaring Project at Dryden Flight Research Center have succeeded in extending the range of small unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) by programming them to autonomously soar on thermals.

Tropical Deforestation Would Alter Storm Paths, Reduce U.S. Rainfall
Rainfall in parts of the United States would be reduced significantly by total deforestation in other parts of the world as the paths of storms are altered, new research shows. The study, led by researchers at Duke University using a NASA computer model, is among the first to reveal potential global effects of localized changes in the land.

Hurricane experts have long known that rainfall in the Sahel region of African affects the formation of hurricanes in the Atlantic, ultimately contributing to how many deadly storms hit the United States. El Nino, in the Pacific, also plays a role in Atlantic hurricane formation.

A study earlier this year found that when the African Congo Basin floods, the Amazon basin experiences a drought. And yet another result this year showed, surprisingly, that even the climates of the northern and southern hemispheres are linked.

Experts: Katrina may have been weaker than first thought
Government hurricane specialists said Friday they are investigating whether Hurricane Katrina was actually a Category 3 storm, not a 4, when it struck the Gulf Coast.

Scientists are also investigating why a 20-to-30-foot storm surge along the Mississippi coast seemed more consistent with a Category 5 hurricane than the designated Category 4, according to specialists at the hurricane center. "At one point Katrina was a Category 5. It may have been that the winds died down to a Category 4 or 3, but the ocean was so stirred up by the hurricane that the surge was more equivalent to a 5," Beven said.

A Language Our Enemy Understands by Hal Lindsey
First, our enemy is Islamic Fundamentalism, which believes it is Allah’s will to kill as many infidels as possible in the quest to establish Islamic rule over the world. These Jihadists’ most hated countries are Israel and America, which they see as the cultural centers of the most hated infidels – Jews and Christians.

Assessment of threat – it is very real and will happen soon..
