Hello everyone,
It's me, Butterfly. Some of you might remember when I posted a prayer request for my brother-in-law, Steve, last summer because of cirrhosis of the liver from hepatitis C he got from a blood transfusion in 1988 and the emergency bypass surgery he had to disconnect his liver from his body.
I want to give an update on his condition.
He is still alive, barely. He has End Stage Liver Cirrhosis and is running out of time quickly to get his liver transplant. When he had the liver by-pass surgery last summer he was told he would only be able to live for another few months to a year before his dead liver became cancerous and killed him and that year is coming up quickly. He says a few weeks ago in January he became critically ill and was taken to the Emergency Room and admitted in the ICU for a while because his body became completely sepsis from head to foot and nearly died of blood poisoning and his organs began shutting down because he cannot fight any kind of infection. His time is very short and needs that liver transplant yesterday.
He has a web site where he tells his story and to get donations to help pay for his liver transplant. They need to raise $100k for the costs now because Medi-Cal will pay the remaining $400k for the transplant.

Steve says on the site:
Please look at his site to read his story. This man has always has such a sweet and gentle spirit and even more so now. Please get to know this man and his family, my family, and help as the Lord leads because when the Spirit of the Lord leads a battle He gives the victory and His hand can multiply by thousands and tens of thousands and bring an increase exactly what is needed for his transplant before he dies. You will be blessed in your spirit.
Many times I have said in my heart, "Oh, I'll pray for him or her" when I'd see someone in need and asking for help, and then I'd hear the Lord speak to me saying, "Why do you make me do all the work?? You help him. You give him food and money. You have it because I gave it to you today as I did yesterday, and will give you tomorrow all that you need."
Again, I just ask for prayers and if anyone can donate a couple of dollars, not so much for Steve's sake but for my nephew's sake who needs his dad. I ask for the sake of my nephew because his life will be blessed if his father lives because he needs Steve.
If you can cut and paste some of this letter and send in an email with the Web link to all of your family, friends, church members, prayer group members, Bible study members, co-workers, everyone you know and even people you don't know... and ask for a dollar or two donation. God will tug on the hearts and minds and bring a harvest so he can get his new liver in time.
This is God's work and He wants us to be apart of what He's doing. God wants to bless those who bless others for the purpose of blessing, motivated by love. I think this is how rewards get built on the foundations of gold, silver and precious stones-- by doing good works based on the motivation of AGAPE LOVE.
Thank you, Wedgies. I love you all. I'll keep you posted.
Umm... if the Web link should be deleted donated can be mailed to Gift-Fundprogram and I can give you the address. I don't want to use this forum inappropriately. I'm just asking for help for my family. I don't want him to die.

Steve says on the site:
"I don't want to put any hardships on anyone and don't want people to feel bad if they don't have much money, but still want to help. If they only gave $5. more or less, and asked 2 others to do the same that would spread a lot faster and wouldn't create such a burden on people and we would really appreciate your help. For those who are able to give more that's great, as long as it's not a hardship."
