Praying for Faith's Precious Daughter's surgery today.
Father God, would you guide and Bless the hands of the surgeon and give him wisdom. Would you Bless the nurses and aides who take care of this Precious child. Would you be with and comfort Faith through the surgery and recovery time. I ask this in the Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen
Just wanted to give you our update. The doc said she did great. He said with all these surgeries he's done over the years, he doesn't see tonsils this HUGE. And he was even more shocked at how enormous her adenoids were. He's never seen anything like them. He couldn't believe she could even breathe. He said this surgery will help her breathing GREATLY and will help her OVERALL HEALTH A LOT. He believes that's why she was sick so much - her tonsils & adenoids were so bad. The doc that referred her said they were so massive he wanted her into an ENT that day, but there weren't openings that fast.
That made me even more glad she had the surgery to get all that blockage out. PTL!! So glad the Lord led us to such great specialists who have done great for us. THANK YOU JESUS!! ping: God was sure there for us thru all of this. Can't thank Him enough.
And THANK YOU to all who have been praying. I greatly appreciate everyone of you praying for my precious daughter. Thanks for your continued prayers thru the couple weeks of recovery.
Time to go. Just wanted to give you that MAJOR PRAISE.
She's feeling much better today. She's doing great w/her Ensure Plus drinks, ice cream, pudding, and apple juice, etc. And she doesn't want the pain meds every 4 hrs. like they told her she would need. She waits about 5-7hrs. before asking for them. I set the alarm for the middle of the night to give her a couple bites of ice cream or pudding w/pain meds, refill her icepack, etc. So, that went well.
She's right here next to me having fun on her laptop. She was excited her doc said a week off of school! She already worked ahead on her Alpha Omega Switched-On Schoolhouse computer school before her surgery. It's so awesome how EZ it is to regenerate. I just uncheck the days she needs off, and it instantly regenerates her school year schedule right then. So, it evenly spreads out her school again. And another PRAISE: I can't thank God enough that we homeschool, because otherwise she would've missed way too much school this year w/all these back-to-back viruses everytime she was out around her friends & church or other community activities. So what a blessing to have homeschooling where she was able to keep up w/her school, since I'm right here w/her anytime she needed help. God is great! All glory to Him. \/
Anyway, she looks very good, too! And she had such a peaceful night's sleep. My precious little angel girl! Her younger brother (just as precious to me!) got to go to the store w/his dad yesterday to help pick out fun balloons, flowers, and a very cute & very soft stuffed animal to surprise his sister. Normally he wouldn't be allowed back to her recovery area, but they let him come back w/ the balloons and stuffed animal to help cheer her up before her ride home.
She needed it since she was throwing up & also kept setting off the too low of oxygen alarm. Before we got to go stay w/her (after surgery), the nurse told me to keep telling her to breathe. They had to put her oxygen back on again and upped it a few times. I believe besides just being so tired from anesthesia, that w/the sleep apnea from all that swollen tissue, that her body was so used to not breathing well. She's been staying w/me the last 2 mths, so when she's having worse sleep apnea nights, I could nudge her for her body to breathe again. So, now she'll have to let her body relearn how to breathe normally. And as the 2 surgery areas are recovering (doc said about 2 wks.), I KNOW it's going to be so great for her to have all that area NOW OPEN & FREE for breathing & swallowing. PTL!!! THANK YOU FATHER!! ping:
Gotta go. Time to help my son w/Language Arts class. Take care & thanks again!
Hugs to you all, too.
P.S. Oh forgot to say this interesting tidbit. Her doc said her voice would be very different after the surgery, because he said it sounded very nasally to him w/the blockage. Wow, was he right. I told her she sounded even more beautiful than she already did. She smiled big at that. Aww. Doc said her friends wouldn't recognize her voice after this. So, she'll have fun when calling them and not saying who it is - to test that out. haha.
Thanks so much Faith for telling us about your daughter! Rejoicing with you and your family. God truly did provide for everything..even a good lesson plan.
She had a GREAT post-op checkup! Doc said she HAS to be breathing SO much better with all that out of the way now. I said I'm so thankful & happy to hear her sleeping SO PEACEFULLY at night now. And no more sleep apnea to deal with. PTL!!!! ping:
And she's starting to gain her weight back, too. So, that made her feel better also. Amen! Thank God for those Ensure Plus drinks.
Another great praise is that she has had such a long break from being sick. Thank the Lord! That's giving her body the needed healing time. She's been getting stronger every day. After a tough winter for her, we're greatly looking forward to Spring & Summer. She smiled when I just read that to her.
Just wanted to again thank you very much for your prayers. It was encouraging just knowing so many were praying.
How sweet it was to just know that my precious daughter's name was being held up to the Lord all those times. God bless you all and be with you all in the prayer requests you have before the Lord as well. May He be with you and strengthen you thru your own trials, and bring you the much needed peace as well.
Thank you Faith so very much for updating us on your Precious daughter.
What a great report from the doctor.
We thank you Father God for your mercy shown and bringing Faith's Precious daughter throught her surgery and for healing her body so she is now able to breath better and sleep at night and that her appitite is good and she is gaining some weight. Father God we thank you in the Mighty Name of Your Precious Son, Jesus Christ. Amen
I never thought of that before..what perfect timing! She will enjoy spring and summer more than ever before..just to have it all over with and to be able to breathe and sleep better..such a difference! Thank You Jesus! \o/
