  • Job Prayer-Karen

My wife has an opportunity to move yet again, because of our wonderful Savior!
As you may recall (as they say on the soaps), she applied for a job awhile back, and even though she was qualified, someone else (the original job holder) wanted it back and received it. Karen hasn't really taken the hunt seriously since then because she was [U]so[U hurt and angry about the whole situation
Today, she learned of another opening in the Healthcare field.
It's with another hospital in the area, one that she had applied with before, and one where they were very impressed with her resume.
Please pray that they will give her a lot of thought, and if it's God's will, she will be given the job.
I'm not sure how many have applied, but it's been open a month, so I'm assuming nobody has fit the bill yet.
    Thanks

          Re: Job Prayer-Karen

Of course the enemy is already giving her doubts.
Today she asked "well what if they want me to take minutes at the meetings?"
"I can't do that very well, because I can't write very fast. The other stuff is easy, since I have a background in law and medical, but that writing fast is too hard for me."
I told her they might allow her to record the meetings, then type them out.
She then said "well I barely passed their typing test last time."
So I told her to find out the rules first (something about not using the backspace or you get time taken off), then type.
She types 80wpm last time I counted.
Tomorrow she will take the typing test, and turn in the application.
Please be in prayer for her because she's realizing this isn't just "funny" that this job came open, and she didn't get the previous one at this system, that was at the same level (this one may be higher for all we know). Also that she decided to call a woman at the system with a question, instead of e-mailing another one, and the one she called had forgotten to say anything about it.
She (whoever she is) tried to remember to tell Karen about this opening because she really was sorry Karen didn't get the other position, and was rooting for her the whole time.
That's okay, God fixes those things too, as he did this time.
I'm going to be in a lot of prayer over this one, because we could use a raise, she's just coming out of bankruptcy (she's writing the check this month to pay it off), and it's time to leave where she is now.
          Thanks

She applies for this tomorrow, so I would assume pretty soon.
It's been open a month, and my guess is that they haven't received anyone noteworthy.
                Maybe she will be it.

Let us know what happens Gregstien...Praying for a good typing test and calm nerves.

I take minutes for meetings..and I can't write fast enough either. I rely a lot on tape recordings.

                    Re: Job Prayer-Karen

I keep telling her that (about the recording).
They don't have "steno" school anymore, as far as I know.
Simply because people record things now, and then you play them back out to type them. But at the same time, you still have a recording of what the person said, so it holds up in court. That's the way I see it.
I'm going to remind her to ask about the backspace rule and just type away.
I'm also going to be praying for her off and on today.
As soon as I know the results of the typing test I will let you know...

Did she do the typing test today?

                          Testing....
I'm having DSL problems which is making me M-A-D. LOL
No she didn't take the test today.
I waited until later in the morning to call, and got no answer.
So I thought she was testing.
Then I got her, and she said "I'll call you back..."
She then informed me how crazy the day was, and I interrupted her "did you take the test?"
"No, I don't have time for a lunch today."
I told her things were in God's hands, but it's up to her to make the decision.
She gets a lunch HOUR and if these people don't understand that, and she doesn't assert herself, then you get her working straight through the day.
She said she called the HR people and the job is open all week.
I can't push her into this, she's on her own.
My dad even agreed that I need to just settle down on this issue.
So I have, I'm not saying another word to her about it.
                          But I'm continuing to pray.
Thanks so far for your prayers, I will update as soon as she takes the test.

She took the typing test, and got 60wpm, which is what they require.
                            She also submitted her application.
So now is the time to pray please.
                            Thanks
