Mark Browns statement that Hizbullah deserves the respect of the
United States is one of the dumbest statements I have heard from
the U.N.(and there have been some dumb ones.) No terriorist group
deserves respect, any coward that will use women and children
as human shields deserves only what Israel is giving them. If Hizbullah
wants respect they should join the civilized world.

Well...Israel has taken Nasrallah up on his challenge by bombing Beruit again...now will Nasrallah try to strike Tel Aviv or will his bluff we called? Praying for the protection of Israel and my the devices of the enemy fall upon their own heads. (Psalm 10)

There is still some danger to Tel Aviv, but Hizbullah ability to use its long
range missiles has been greatly reduced. My guess is if Tel Aviv is hit it
will be from something launched from Syria, which would be an act
          of suicide.

            IAF Attacks Hizbullah in Beirut
            05:17 Aug 04, '06 / 10 Av 5766

(IsraelNN.com) The air force attacked terrorist targets 15 times in Beirut, Lebanese media is reporting. One of the objectives included a road that connects the Lebanese capital with southern Lebanon.

According to media reports on Thursday, Hizbullah has threatened Israel that any attack on Beirut would result in an immediate response, the launching of rockets into Tel Aviv.

The ball is now in Nasrallahs court, he has made the threat to hit
Tel Aviv if Beruit is bombed, now we will find our if he can back it
up. Today could be a very dangerous day in Israel.

If Nasrallah's threat was not enough:

08:44 200 Islamic militants sent on missions to bomb `Israel`s vital interests` (Reuters)

                Continuing to pray Psalm 10 & 83...

My own take differs - IMO Nasrallah is signaling that for now Hezbollah considers themselves "beaten"on the battlefield and thus want an immediate cease-fire. His precise threat is one of "if Israel bombs central Beruit" - something that Israel has not done and probably never will

Will they immediately regroup and attempt to rearm - most assuredly - however it's also a case of Nasrallah's and Hezbollah's "stock" being very high both in Lebanon and the arab / muslim world for standing up to, and punishing Israel - so in that sense it's seen as "victory".

Thus they intend to now work the "political" side aimed at seizing full power within Lebanon and turning it into a new terrorist state

Israel smashes bridges, Hezbollah rockets fly

Israeli warplanes strike major power plant, pound Beirut suburbs

                    Friday, August 4, 2006; Posted: 8:07 a.m. EDT (12:07 GMT)

BEIRUT, Lebanon (CNN) -- Israeli aircraft for the first time in the three-week conflict blasted major roadways north of Beirut on Friday, knocking out four bridges, while hitting the city's southern suburbs held by Hezbollah.

To the south, Hezbollah fighters launched seven Katyusha rockets into northern Israel, according to Haifa police, hitting two cities. No casualties were reported, police said.

The airstrike on Beirut's Maameltain bridge left two Lebanese dead, Lebanese Red Cross said. LBC-TV reported the two people killed were in vehicles on the bridge, which is located in a Christian neighborhood of eastern Beirut.

Traffic was paralyzed as Israel bombed major northern routes out of the capital.

Lebanese Red Cross also reported one person dead and one missing after the Fidar-Halat bridge collapsed Friday. Israeli aircraft also took out the Madfoun and Casino bridges, according to Arab media.

2 Israeli soldiers killed in southern Lebanon; rockets pound northern Israel

BEIRUT, Lebanon - Israel’s pounding of Hezbollah positions across Lebanon expanded Friday with missiles targeting bridges in the Christian heartland north of Beirut for the first time, an attack that further isolates Lebanon from the outside world.

Dozens of farm workers were killed or wounded near the Lebanon-Syria border, the farm foreman said. At least five other civilians died in Israeli strikes north of Beirut, while a Lebanese soldier was killed in an air raid near Beirut's airport, security officials and witnesses said.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army said that two Israeli soldiers were killed and two wounded by a Hezbollah-fired anti-tank missile in southern Lebanon. In northern Israel, two civilians were killed and several others injured after more than 100 Hezbollah rockets landed across the border.

I am VERY surprised we have not seen any confrontation coming from the West Bank. Seems suicide bombers would be running rampant.
