hmmm or did Hezbollah do it and blame Israel so they can rally more people to the conflict?

        this report says:
A missile fired at an Israeli naval vessel off Lebanon early on Saturday missed the target and hit an Egyptian boat instead, the Israeli army said.

"There has been another attempt to attack an Israeli naval vessel. It missed our ship and instead hit a different ship, an Egyptian vessel," an Israeli army spokeswoman said.

Re: Fox News Breaking:Syria to protect Hezbollah

Israel is already fighting on two fronts. I would not doubt if Syria opens another one with small arms fire -- like the Golen Heights. That would spread the Israeli army quite thin right now.

Re: Fox News Breaking:Syria to protect Hezbollah

They might try to spread Israel thin, until God steps in.
Maybe this is when he will step in, or the AC one of the two.

Re: Breaking: Hezbollah misses Navy Ship...Hit's Egyptian One

See this is where I have a lot of questions to ask....
              Is this divine intervention?
              Is Hezbollah a bad shot?
What do they say after something like this, to Egypt?
              What can they say?
              Talk about an awkward situation.
I hope it happens again, as long as no one is hurt of course.

DAMASCUS (AFP) - Syria is bracing itself for "any eventuality" as the regime nervously eyes a relentless Israeli operation over the border in Lebanon and faces up to increasingly hostile US rhetoric.
If Hezbollah has long-range rockets and "tries to hit Haifa with projectiles developed with Syria's help, Israel has no choice but to hit Damascus," Yuval Steinitz, the hawkish former chairman of the parliamentary defence and foreign affairs committee said.

Woman and five-year-old grandson killed in Moshav Meron rocket attack

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Dan Halutz said Friday that Hezbollah has rockets with a range of up to 70 kilometers (43.5 miles) or more, an admission that brings more major cities within their range, including possibly Hadera and Netanya. This would mean that Hezbollah has rockets that could reach within 20 to 30 kilometers of Tel Aviv.

Haifa hit by Katyusha for first time
Katyusha rockets struck Haifa, Israel's 3rd-largest city, for the 1st time
Thursday night, and the Home Front Command ordered area residents Friday to stay near bomb shelters so they could go inside as soon as they hear an air-raid siren. There were no casualties in the rocket strike on Haifa's Stella Maris area.

Hezbollah said Friday that Israel should expect an attack on Haifa at any time.

Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Daniel Ayalon told reporters in Washington that Thursday's rocket attack on Haifa was a "major, major escalation" by Hezbollah.

Some 220,000 Israelis stayed in bomb shelters in northern Israel on Thursday night to avoid the rocket fire, the army said.

Please note, I have started an "Israel VS Syria" thread. I know the lines are a bit blurred between Hizbullah and Syria but I think we need a specific thread on what happens between Israel and Syria.

As I write this the G8 are coming with a "Common" position for the ME. (Another "Quartet" in the making)If all those countries sign a deal and the deal isn't, and mostly likely won't be, something Israel can live with, when Israel doesn't obey, could this be the beginning whole world turning against Israel?

I guess we will know soon enough

Six hurt as rockets land in Tiberias, 35 km from Lebanon

By Yuval Azoulay, Amos Harel and Yoav Stern, Haaretz Correspondents, Haaretz Service and Agencies

Three Katyusha rockets landed in Tiberias, located 35 kilometers from the Lebanese border, on Saturday. A residential building suffered a direct hit, sustaining damage. The owners of the residence were abroad.

Two rockets landed adjacent to a stadium in Tiberias and near the town's Club Hotel. Six people were lightly injured from rocket shrapnel.

Authorities have asked that bathers on the coast of the Sea of Galilee evacuate the area for fear of further Katyusha attacks.
Additional rockets landed near Tiberias - in Kfar Hitim, Evron, and Abu Snan. One person suffered from shock.

Rockets also landed Carmiel, Hatzor Haglilit, Peki'in, Safed, Nahariya, and Moshav Ben-Ami, in the western Galilee.

Two rockets hit empty homes Carmeil and Safed. Another landed adjacent to Carmiel College, causing a brushfire.

Saturday's rocket strikes came one day after a woman and her 5-year-old grandson were killed and four others were injured when a Katyusha rocket slammed into a home in Moshav Meron.

Early Saturday, dozens of rockets were launched, landing in Nahariya, Safed, Moshav Meron and the northern Golan Heights, causing no casualties or damage.

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Dan Halutz said Friday that Hezbollah has rockets with a range of up to 70 kilometers (43.5 miles) or more, an admission that brings more major cities within their range, including possibly Hadera and Netanya.
