Some interesting info on Haifa that is currently being struck by Hezbollah....

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haifa

Haifa is a mosaic of peaceful coexistence between Jews, Muslim and Christian Arabs, Ahmadis (in Kababir), Druze (in Daliyat al-Carmel), Bahá'ís, and others.

Noted by Jews for the Cave of Elijah and the historic Jewish town of Shikmona at the foot of Mount Carmel. On the top of the mountain is the Muchraka, the place where Elijah burned the emissaries of Baal. The name is probably derived from the Hebrew verb "charach" which means "burned". There is a Carmelite monastery there.

      Maybe Elijah will appear here???

Another abomination stands here, one of Bahai faith and the founder of that religion Babs...

Siyyid `Alí Muhammad (Arabic: سيد علی ‌محمد‎ ) (October 20, 1819 – July 9, 1850) was a merchant from Shiraz, Persia, who at the age of twenty-five claimed to be a new and independent Manifestation of God and the promised Qá'im (or Mihdí). After his declaration he took on the title of Báb (Arabic: باب‎ ) meaning "Gate". Six years later he was shot by a firing squad in Tabriz.

His titles include, among others, the "Primal Point" and the "Point of the Bayan."

Bahá'ís claim that the Báb was the forerunner of their own religion. Bahá'u'lláh, the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá'í Faith, was a follower of the Báb and claimed to be the fulfillment of his prophecy.

For many shall come and claim to be the Christ.....

IDF Targets Tunnel Infrastructure in S. Gaza
          12:50 Jul 16, '06 / 20 Tammuz 5766

(IsraelNN.com) The IDF Spokesperson’s Office a short time ago released a message that the air force bombed “weapons tunneling infrastructure” in southern Gaza, thereby preventing an attack in pre-1967 Green Line Israel.
[There was only one other paragraph with this article.]

It will be interesting to see how things "progress" in Gaza now.

Shalit is Alive, Says Security Chief
            17:45 Jul 16, '06 / 20 Tammuz 5766

(IsraelNN.com) IDF Corporal Gilad Shalit, captured by Hamas terrorists during an attack June 25 on an army outpost at the Kerem Shalom border crossing with Gaza, is alive. Two soldiers died in the attack and four were injured, as was Shalit.

If this is true, the praise God. I would think that the death of this
soldier would cause unrestricted war on Humas.

Israel bombs Palestinian Foreign Ministry (Again)

By IBRAHIM BARZAK, Associated Press Writer
              23 minutes ago

Israeli warplanes bombed the Palestinian Foreign Ministry building in Gaza City early Monday, the second attack on the ministry in a week, witnesses said.

An Associated Press reporter on the scene saw clouds of smoke rising from the already damaged building after the strike by an Israeli warplane. At least five people were injured, rescue workers said.

The Israeli military refused to comment.

The huge blast collapsed an eight-story wing of the building and damaged houses in a wide area around the ministry. Black smoke covered the area as police vehicles and ambulances raced in, sirens blaring.
The wounded were in nearby houses. The ministry was thought to be empty at the time of the strike, 1:20 a.m. local time.

Israel bombed the same building on Thursday, saying it was used to plan terror attacks. The Palestinian foreign minister is Mahmoud Zahar, a top Hamas leader.

....An hour before the ministry bombing, Israeli aircraft fired at least five missiles at Palestinian militants during battles in northern Gaza early Monday, Palestinian security officials said.

Gazan Arabs Buy Thousands of Hizbullah Flags
                      15:44 Jul 18, '06 / 22 Tammuz 5766

(IsraelNN.com) Gaza area Arabs have made Hizbullah terrorist organization flags one of the most popular items and have snapped up thousands of the yellow banners.

"We hope [Sayyed Hassan] Nasrallah bombs Haifa, Jaffa and Tel Aviv. Let him do what a billion Muslims cannot do," said 35-year-old Mohsen Abdallah of Bet Hanoun, in northern Gaza.

Hizbullah flags were prominent in a parade earlier this week in which area Arabs burned Israeli and American flags. They chanted for Hizbullah to bomb Tel Aviv.

...yet somehow they manage to find the money to hold parades and buy Hizbullah flags - and of course guns and ammo to kill the IDF...

They better hope that the Hizzys don't bomb TelAviv--I don't think I'd want to tick off the IDF any more than they already are. Of course, I don't think these folks are the brightest bulbs in the pack either. Which is not a bad thing.

Intelligence Sources: Hizbullah Directing Some PA Terror Attacks
                          17:02 Jul 19, '06 / 23 Tammuz 5766

                          (
IsraelNN.com) According to Israeli intelligence agencies, the Lebanese Hizbullah organization is helping to direct and fund some planned Islamic Jihad and Fatah terrorist attacks inside Israeli cities, in the hope of opening a third front in the current Arab assault on the Jewish State.

Security services have many warnings of efforts by the two Palestinian Authority-based groups to carry out terrorist attacks in Jewish population centers at this time.

The Islamic Jihad, like Hizbullah, is known to be supported by Iran; while Fatah is headed by PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen).

Just this afternoon, a bomber was pursued and captured in the populous Sharon region, north of Tel Aviv.

More than 200 wanted terrorists were captured when IDF forces demolished PA offices in Shechem and overnight, IDF forces captured five wanted terrorists in Judea and Samaria.

Israel kills 14 Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank

                            By Nidal al-Mughrabi
                            6 minutes ago

Israeli troops killed 14 Palestinians in clashes in Gaza and the occupied West Bank on Wednesday in one of the worst days of violence since Israel launched an offensive to free an abducted soldier.

Fighting erupted between Israeli troops and militants in central Gaza as the army pushed into the strip, killing nine Palestinians -- four militants and five civilians -- in air strikes and other attacks, medics said.

Three of the militants were from the governing Islamist Hamas movement. Gunmen from the faction, which is sworn to Israel's destruction, and two other groups captured Israeli army Corporal Gilad Shalit in a cross-border raid on June 25.

Israel has killed about 110 Palestinians, nearly half of them militants, in Gaza since the abduction and vowed to continue its three-week offensive until the soldier is freed and militants stop firing rockets into Israel.

                              23:33 Jul 19, '06 / 23 Tammuz 5766

(IsraelNN.com) As a result of the increasing number of terror alerts of planned attacks, Defense Minister Amir Peretz has ordered a general closure of Palestinian Authority (PA) residents throughout Judea, Samaria and Gaza. The closure will continue until Saturday night.

During that time, PA residents will not be permitted to enter into pre-1967 Green Line Israel.

(IsraelNN.com) Gaza residents were told Thursday morning to leave their homes ahead of more IDF attacks on terrorist nests within civilian communities.

The IDF distributed flyers warning residents who were holding any form of ammunition in or around their homes to leave, inasmuch as the IDF was planning to strike those targets.

For all the complaints and liberal slant against Israel, how many nations would do such nice things as Israel does to try so hard to PREVENT true, innocent civilians from being hurt? It gives away some of the surprise element of war. But that just shows all the more that in the area of COMPASSION, they are TOPS in that for sure. God bless them & be with them! I sure wish I could be there in Israel in a show of strong support! But my thoughts & prayers go out to them from across the many miles.
