I know this is just the angle of the photo and the image just happens to be there, but I still think it's neat.

Olmert: Operation will stop when Hizbullah disarms
Israel will not halt its offensive in Lebanon until Hizbullah is disarmed, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Friday.
Olmert made the comments during a telephone call with U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, Israeli government officials said Friday.
Olmert agreed to allow a U.N. team come to the area to try to mediate a cease-fire, an official close to Olmert said.

Bush will not tell Israel to halt offensive: W.House
1 hour, 27 minutes ago
President Bush wants Israel to minimize the risk of casualties in its campaign in southern Lebanon, but will not press it to halt its military operation, the White House said on Friday.
White House spokesman Tony Snow told reporters that the U.S. leader spoke by telephone to Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and other Middle East leaders as he sought to defuse a crisis between Israel and Hizbollah guerrillas in Lebanon.
Snow said Bush "believes the Israelis have the right to protect themselves and that in doing that they should limit as much as possible so-called collateral damage not only to facilities but also to human lives," Snow said.
Asked whether he agreed to Siniora's request to tell the Israelis to limit their military operations, Snow said: "No. The president is not going to make military decisions for Israel."

Bolton Officially Names Iran and Syria in Lebanon Conflict
July 14, 2006 11:20 AM EST
By Sher Zieve – In a speech given on Friday, UN Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton officially named Syria and Iran as collaborators in the current Israel-Lebanon conflict. Lebanon’s Syrian and Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah began the conflict by crossing into Israel, killing 7 Israeli soldiers and kidnapping 2.
Ambassador Bolton called upon both Iran and Syria to stop their support and continuing provocations toward continuing the conflict. He also called upon the newly elected Lebanese leadership to crack down on its own internal terrorist groups.
The Hezbollah actions against Israel are believed to have been begun under the auspices and leadership of Iran and Syria, in order to stop any actions by the UN Security Council towards Iran for its continuing nuclear development. Iran is thought to have its nuclear weapons development program underway.

EU Lashes Israel, Announces New Aid to PA
17:31 Jul 14, '06 / 18 Tammuz 5766
(IsraelNN.com) The European Union (EU) Friday continued to lash out at Israel for its reprisals against the Hizbullah terrorist infrastructure and also announced another $63 million in aid for the Palestinian Authority (PA). The money is earmarked for food distribution, basic health services and water and sanitation, according to a EU commission statement.
The EU has set up a mechanism to bypass the Hamas government, which the United States has blacklisted because it is a terrorist organization.
Louis Michel, commissioner for the aid, said he condemned the escalating violence but emphasized that civilians in the Gaza region and in Lebanon are "casualties of the Israeli blockades and incursions."

Iran calls for outside intervention in Lebanon
By ASSOCIATED PRESS
ATHENS, Greece
Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Friday said the United Nations and international community should intervene immediately to stop Israel's military offensive in Lebanon.
"The situation in Palestine and Lebanon is worrying and dangerous," Mottaki said after talks in Athens with Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis and senior Greek diplomats.
"The international community and the United Nations must intervene to stop this crime," he said.

The $64,000 question is how long will Iran wait before taking matters into their own hands when the UN / International Community do nothing as always?
