Re: Israel VS Hiz-Bullies Part II

Well Good Morning! And quite the day we are waking up to, is it not?! I just saw an ex Ambassador (sorry didn't catch the name but NOT Mark Ginsberg) and he was saying that Israel has had captives taken into Iran before, and it could be years if ever that Israel would see them again if they make it out of Lebanon with them. He too, said that Hezbollah is a branch off from the Iranian "army" and that both Iran and Syria...via Damascus...are who is supporting them and Hamas, but "not sure they are calling the shots". Insane that the news doesn't pick up, or people around me even, the importance of what is taking place! Are you guys finding the same reaction from friends and family?

The European Union is greatly concerned about the disproportionate use of force by Israel in Lebanon in response to attacks by Hezbollah on Israel," according to a statement issued by Finland, which holds the EU's rotating presidency. "The presidency deplores the loss of civilian lives and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. The imposition of an air and sea blockade on Lebanon cannot be justified."

France's foreign minister, meanwhile, condemned Israel's attacks as "a disproportionate act of war." Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy also told France's Europe-1 radio that France was calling for "the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon to be preserved."

He said France would support the Lebanese request that the U.N. Security Council take up the issue as soon as possible.

Dear Lord! They really want to do this! All I can say is let them give it their best shot. God will take care of them.

Iran declares support for Palestinian militants

    Thursday, July 13, 2006 -

LONDON, July 13 (IranMania) - Iran's top national security official Ali Larijani has met with Palestinian groups to voice the Islamic republic's "decisive support" for their battle against Israel, state media said Thursday.

A report by the official news agency IRNA said Larijani, during a flying visit to close ally Syria on Wednesday, declared "the Islamic republic's decisive support for the Palestinian and the Lebanese resistance against Israel."

The report said Larijani had met with "Palestinian movement leaders who are against the peace process", including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine General Command (PFLP-GC).

I wonder if this will put the G8 summit on hold. It has escalated beyond what they thought it would. Has anyone giving any thought to that they might take out our president at this time? What better way to stall the US when we are in morning? What better way to engage our wrath to those who do this?

Re: Good Link for Israel/Arab News

I am posting a link to what I think is one of the best web sites around for news from the middle east. It has links to radio, arab news, and more Israeli news. It's kind of a one stop shopping mall and makes it easier (for me) to keep up to date. Hope you find it useful too:

Ok - so typical, Israel is attacked on two fronts by major terrorist organizations and who does the UN rush to - the Arabs..???
I would expect nothing less, in the eyes of the world Israel is always the
cause of the problem and the arabs are the poor misunderstood peace
lovers. He may make some kind of token statement condeming the taking
of the soldiers but Israel will bare the main part of his words.

Annan to send team to Middle East to urge restraint

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan is sending a three-person team to the Middle East to urge all parties to exercise restraint and help defuse the major crisis in the region, a spokesman said on Thursday.

The team will first visit Cairo to meet with Egyptian officials and consult with Arab League foreign ministers meeting there on Saturday, the spokesman said. Annan was traveling in Rome on Thursday. (Reuters)

I bet he thinks he will have a plan to solve the problem, who knows he
might have one that will work for a brief time.

I posted this seperately in case some wanted to discuss - i.e. Solana is just now meeting in London with Blair on the ME crisis, and is personally planning to head to Israel shortly to stem the violence....

I hope Israel doesn't buy into this. IMHO, if we had gone to Baghdad during Desert Storm, we probably wouldn't be in Iraq--nor would there have been the proliferation of weaponry all over the middle east.

The only way to deal with terrorists is to kill them. That's all they understand. Sad to say.
