Re: Ezekiel 36 and the Mountains of Israel Pt II

Hope you had a chance to read the posts above concerning Gogu as well as the piece about 3 senior generals: Now consider the following. This stuff all makes me sick folks!

Over the last few months I have been looking at the various names mentioned in Ezekiel as confederates of Gog. I have already indicated in the thread above that Meshech and Tubal can have multiple meanings. It is really interesting to look at all the meanings...a picture begins to come into focus. So with that in mind I looked at other players: Persia, Cush and Put according to most Bible translations. Gomer is mentioned and Beth Togarmah as well...the many nations with you. As you know conventional wisdom has it that Cush is Ethiopia and Put is Libya. This may be the case although even I know that Cush can also apply to the upper Euphrates region. Cush was the son of Ham and father of Nimrod who built Babylon and Nineveh. Put was another son of Ham and so brother of Cush, Canaan and Mizraim. Mizraim is an ancient name for Egypt and as you know the Canaanites settled along the coast of the Mediterranen in what became Israel. However Mizraim was also the father of the Ludites who are believed to have lived in central Anatolia (modern Turkey). Canaan was the father of the Hittites who also settled in central Anatolia/Turkey. Gomer is a son of Japheth rather than Ham. Gomer is related to Magog, Tubal, Meshech among others in Genesis chapter 10. Just about everybody seems to be connected with modern Turkey or perhaps a bit further east including Georgia/Armenia. It is not a giant leap to conclude that modern Turkey will be a BIG player in the Gog scenario. Just happens that Turkey is the one Muslim nation that Israel trusts and has had very progressive dealings with over the last number of years. I won't go into them here.

The one player we have not discussed in all of this is Persia. For months/years I have thought that somehow Persia/Iran needed to "come on side" with the west to make the whole Gog is George scenario credible. That is still possible but getting pretty remote. The Iranians seem to be continually screaming nasty things about Israel and its destruction. Even if they set aside their nuclear ambitions I don't think anybody would trust them for a long time. However read on...

The word translated Persia in the Bible actually comes from Paras. It is invariably translated Persia. Note that there is no person named Paras in Genesis 10. So where does this name come from?? If you check the Daniel 5 story you will recall the handwriting on the wall. Mene mene tekel upharsin. The upharsin in Aramaic means "and parsin" (the plural of peres) Check out verse 28. The word peres can mean Persia/Paras but also means "divided" as in a half mina or half shekel. Note how clever the language in Daniel 5:28 reads: "your kingdom is divided and given..." So I went to my Strongs and looked up "peres". It is number 6538, which comes from 6536 paras, meaning to "to break in pieces, to split,to distribute, to part, to tear" Get the idea? Now 6538 peres means a claw, also a kind of eagle or ossifrage, a bird that drops its prey from a great height thus breaking its bones. Interesting that in two places in the Tanack peres is translated as "vulture" which is a raptor bird of the eagle family..but I digress. Now the very next word in Strongs is 6539 Paras (ie Persia, an eastern country). Remember that in ancient Hebrew there are no vowels to distinquish peres from paras. Also there is no punctuation to distinquish paras from Paras. So 6536, 6538 and 6539 are all the same word! Whom is Ezekiel actually describing? We know in Daniel 5 that the Paras there turned out to be the Persians. Interesting that it WAS under Cyrus the Persian king that the Jews returned to the Land. What if Ezekiel is NOT talking about Persians at all. The name can just as easily be translated Eagle (people) along with Cush and Put and the other good folks from Turkey. Now here is the exciting part. The President of the Eagle people today is about to DIVIDE the Land. He stands in contrast to Cyrus of Paras who helped the Jews. The modern Gog is a raptor/vulture. Interesting that the name of the current President of Israel is Shimon Peres. I need to confirm that his name in Hebrew means raptor/vulture/divider. Incredible, huh??? or eh??? for the Canadians.
IF the above is linguistically possible than we don't need to wait for Iran/Persia to come "onside". The ancient destroyer of Babylonia (Cyrus) had a big role in the history of Israel. The modern destroyer of Babylonia (George) may have a similarly important role to play. He does not need Persia with him. The people of the Eagle (America) are his to command. Look for Turkey to be "onside" with the USA for a big peacekeeping effort as the Land is DIVIDED before your very eyes very soon. You can read the rest of the story in Ezkiel 38 and 39!

PS: . I noticed that earlier in January just the day before George Bush went to Middle East he entertained Turkish President Abdullah Gul at the White House with "full honours". President Ab brought his wife, foreign minister, energy and nat resources minister, economy minister, and Rear Admiral Sever, head of the General Staff Intell Dept. Before meeting Bush, President Ab met with VP Cheney, Sec of State "Anaconda" Rice, and Defense Sec Rob Gates. No doubt there were commitments made to keep the PKK (Kurds) out of Turkey. The US is sharing satellite info with Turkey already. Wonder what the USA got in return...

Re: Ezekiel 36 and the Mountains of Israel Pt II

A number of news sources report this morning on the projected failure of the peace initiative this year. But notice the highlighted section in the report carried by the Jerusalem Post about General Jones' activities in light of the posts above:

      http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satelli...cle%2FShowFull

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salaam Fayad predicts that a final peace agreement will not be signed by the end of 2008, Israel Radio reported on Friday.

Speaking during a visit in Texas, Fayad said that the peace talks were not advancing at the necessary pace, and this was mainly due to Israel's negligence in dismantling illegal settlements and outposts in the West Bank.

The PA prime minister also criticized Israeli military action in the West Bank, saying that IDF operations harm the PA's standing and sabotage Palestinians' efforts to enforce law and order in their territory.

On Thursday, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni defended IDF military action in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and said that a Palestinian state would only be established after a solution was found to the threats which Israel faces.

Livni made her comments during a meeting with James Jones, the US special envoy for Middle East security.

Jones, who met with Livni after meetings the last two days in Cairo and Amman, is in the process of drawing up a plan about how to provide security in the interim period between when Israel leaves large swaths of the West Bank under any possible peace agreement, and when the Palestinian Authority is able to take over control of the vacated areas.

Livni, however, told Jones there was a need to relate to the situation "on the ground right now," and that "the necessary action to be taken regarding security issues is not only in relation to what will be written in a future agreement." "The situation in the Gaza Strip must be taken into account in any political process - especially in light of the effects of this process on future security arrangements," Livni said, according to a statement issued from her office.

HSB: Look for "peacekeepers" to be deployed into the area very soon. The key is turning in the lock!

here is a recent tidbit linking Israel and Turkey. Don't be surprised to see Turkey involved with a transitional plan to birth a PA state in the West Bank (involving an army of peacekeepers from USA/NATO):

Cooperation between Turkey, Israel Contributes to Mideast Peace: Turkish DM
          2008-02-13 04:39:00 Xinhua

Turkish Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul said on Tuesday that growing cooperation between Turkey and Israel contributes to peace and stability in the Middle East.

Gonul made the remarks at a joint press conference with visiting Israeli Minister of Defense Ehud Barak after their official talks in the Turkish capital of Ankara.

Hailing the two countries' cooperation, Gonul said that his country has signed 15 agreements with Israeli military authorities and are conducting joint military acts. He also said that Turkish and Israeli defense officials have revived talks on purchasing spy satellites developed and constructed by Israel.

Gonul said that Turkey used Israeli-manufactured unmanned aircraft in its south-east and cross-border operations against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which he said have been very helpful.

"We thank Israel for its support to Turkey in the defense industry. We thank Mr. Barak for sending equipment and devices that Turkey use in the south-east and in cross border operations," Gonul stressed.

Gonul also hailed the long-running ties between the two countries, noting "Turkey was among the first countries to recognize Israel when it was founded. In fact, Turkey was the first Muslim country to recognize Israel."

"We are making great efforts so that Israel and Palestine live in peace side by side," Gonul added.

For his part, Barak hailed Turkey's significance and influence in the region, saying "everyone respects and have confidence in Turkey in the region."

"Turkey is a source of stability in a region surrounded by Afghanistan, Iraq, Hezbollah and Lebanon," Barak underlined.

He added that Israel and Turkey are willing to have more joint projects in the future.

Still, you've got to feel bad for the kurds, they've been longing for their own homeland for centuries. even so, terrorism is not the way to obtain that.

There is no interest like self-interest! Turkey wants help controlling the Kurd uprisings in eastern Turkey. Israel and the USA can help with that (eg. satellite data/sale) Too bad for the Kurds! Turkey is the closest ally Israel has in the entire Middle East. Keep your ears open for talk of Turkish troops being deployed along with USA/other NATO countries in the West Bank to fill the void left by departing IDF forces. Oh that would mean Gog and his friends were on the Mountains of Israel. Then duck!

Israeli minister in Turkey to discuss defense cooperation

              2008-02-13 10:44:29 -

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) - Israel will take further military measures to respond to attacks from Hamas-controlled Gaza, Israel's defense minister said Tuesday.
«We will be forced to strengthen our military efforts,» Ehud Barak said in Hebrew during a meeting with Turkish counterpart Vecdi Gonul. His statement was later translated into English by an Israeli Embassy
              official.
On Monday, Barak indicated his country might try to overthrow the Hamas regime in Gaza, and Hamas leaders went into hiding after Israel threatened to hunt them down in the battle over daily rocket salvos from Gaza on Israel's south.
It was the first time a senior Israeli official hinted so strongly that Israel was prepared to overthrow Hamas if the Palestinians did not do it themselves.
Israel, which is negotiating a peace deal with moderate Palestinians based in the West Bank, has made it clear it has no intention of implementing any accord until Hamas is removed from power in Gaza.
On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who is paying a visit to Germany, also vowed to respond to terrorism.
«The Israeli government under my leadership is absolutely determined to respond to the challenge of terror from Gaza in every possible manner which will be effective,» Olmert said. «We will not hesitate, we will not stop, we will do what's necessary to be done.
Rocket barrages from Gaza have not abated despite Israel's withdrawal from the territory in 2005, military strikes and a recent economic blockade of the strip.
Turkey, which is Israel's only friend in the Muslim world, has in the past criticized Israel for heavy-handed policies against Palestinians.
Turkey's Islamic-rooted government has long offered to help mediate peace between Israel and Palestinians and is also reportedly serving as a go-between Israel and Syria.
Asked to comment on the reported Turkish mediation, Barak said «These are not issues that we are talking about in detail and for sure, we will not report on them.
«Turkey has good relations with all countries in the region. If Turkey can contribute to a decrease of the risk, it will have a positive role in the region,» Barak said.
Both countries have good defense relations and Gonul thanked the visiting minister for his country's support in fighting Kurdish rebels by providing Israeli-made Heron unmanned aircraft used to gather intelligence about rebel hideouts in neighboring northern Iraq.

«Along with the information provided by the United States, Israel's unmanned air vehicles have been extremely helpful,» Gonul said.
Turkey is planning to buy 10 Heron aircraft from Israel and has leased three recently to use in an aerial bombing campaign against the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, in northern Iraq. The PKK, which has battled for autonomy in southeastern Turkey for more than two decades, uses strongholds in northern Iraq for cross-border raids.
A US$190 million (¤131 million) deal for the Herons was signed several years ago, but a malfunction in a camera system manufactured for the drones by a Turkish subcontractor has held up delivery.
Gonul said technical teams were separately discussing Turkey's interest in procuring an Israeli spy satellite worth US$300 million (¤208 million.
Barak was scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan later Tuesday. The Israeli minister will meet President Abdullah Gul and chief of Turkish military staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit on Wednesday.

here is a bit further news from Turkey:

                http://www.hri.org/cgi-bin/brief?/ne...2-13.tcpr.html

[08] Turkish and Israeli Ministers of Defence hold a joint press conference
Ankara Anatolia news agency (12.02.08) reports the following from Ankara:
Turkish Minister of National Defence Vecdi Gonul said Tuesday growing cooperation between Turkey and Israel contributes to peace and stability in the region.

Gonul received Israeli Minister of Defence Ehud Barak in Ankara on Tuesday. The two ministers held a press conference after their tete-a-tete meeting. Relations between Turkey and Israel go back far in history. Our relations are not merely based on the relations among the states but the peoples of our two countries. Relations among our people and Jews go back centuries. You remember Jews who came to our country from Spain. You remember German Jews that Turkey received with open arms. Turkey was among the first countries to recognize Israel when it was founded. In fact, Turkey was the first Muslim country to recognize Israel, Gonul noted.

We are making great efforts so that Israel and Palestine live in peace side by side. The growing cooperation between our two countries contributes to the peace and stability in the region. We have signed 15 agreements with Israeli military authorities and are conducting joint military acts, Gonul indicated. We thank Israel for its support to Turkey in the defence industry. We thank Mr. Barak for sending equipment and devices that Turkey use in the south-east and in cross border operations, Gonul stressed.

Ehud Barak, Israeli Minister of Defence, said Tuesday that Turkey is a source of stability in the region.

Barak met his Turkish counterpart Vecdi Gonul in Ankara on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters after his meeting with Gonul, Barak indicated that Turkey is a country that has relations with all governments and peoples in the region. Everyone respects and have confidence in Turkey in the region, Barak stressed.

Turkey is a source of stability in a region surrounded by Afghanistan, Iraq, Hezbollah and Lebanon, Barak underlined.

We discussed bilateral relations with Vecdi Gonul and displayed willingness for more joint projects in the future, Barak also said.

HSB: Why did the Defense Minister for Turkey reference both Israel and Palestine?? Remember Barak wouldn't even talk about it!!! Now read this:

                http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/2008021...y-3cd7efd.html

Palestinian official asks Turkey to help with Hamas
By Sibel Utku Bila AFP - Friday, February 15 12:03 pmANKARA (AFP) - Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Malki urged Turkey Friday to use its influence over Hamas to help a peaceful resolution to the rift among Palestinians.

"Turkey enjoys a very unique situation... a good working relationship with Israel but also good relations with Hamas, the American administration and the Palestinian Authority," Malki said after talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan.
"We expect Turkey to play a role in convincing Hamas to step back, to allow the Rafah crossing to be reopened and not to interfere in the operation of the Rafah crossing... to rescind from all actions taken" since the hardline Islamist movement took over Gaza in June, he said.

Malki said the Palestinian Authority, led by President Mahmud Abbas, is committed to dialogue with Hamas to restore Palestinian unity.

"We should not use force or violence to recover Gaza," he said. "We are willing to engage in dialogue with people from Hamas as long as they rescind from the actions they have taken (since) they staged the coup," he said.

Israel has cut the territory off from all but vital humanitarian aid in a bid to pressure Hamas to end its rocket attacks against southern Israel.

The Rafah crossing on the Egyptian border, Gaza's only border not with Israel, was blown open by militants on January 23, allowing a brief Gazan exodus before it was resealed by Hamas and Egyptian forces on February 3.

There has been disagreement since on how the border issue should be handled.

Turkey's Islamist-rooted government angered Israel when it hosted a delegation led by exiled Hamas supremo Khaled Meshaal in February 2006 after the Islamists' election victory. Ankara said it was simply an effort to press the militant group to renounce violence.

The row was defused and Ankara believes it can use its close relations with both Israel and the Palestinians to help in peace efforts.
Malki also accused Israel of backpedalling from a deal reached between Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert at Annapolis, Maryland, in November to try to conclude a peace agreement by the end of 2008.

He appealed to the more than 40 countries that took part in the conference, including Turkey, to exert pressure on Israel to abide by the agreement and lift the embargo on Gaza.

"Three months have passed and nothing has changed... International intervention is needed to salvage the spirit of Annapolis," Malki said.

Babacan joined the criticism, denouncing Israel for deciding to build new settlements on the West Bank and in East Jerusalem and for creating "alarming" humanitarian problems by cutting off Gaza.

"If the Annapolis process fails, radicals will win. The cost of failure could be grave," Babacan warned.

He called on Israel "to put an end to its present policies, which hamper the peace process and inflict a heavy toll on the lives of people in Gaza."

Malki is in Ankara for a meeting of Palestinian ambassadors in European countries to discuss developments in the Middle East conflict.

HSB: There we have it folks. All PA ambassadors are in Ankara, Turkey to meet with FM Al-Malki just after Israeli Defence Minister Barak is there. There is a call for..."International intervention". Well make a choice everybody. Would that be a Russian invasion force with Turkey part of it swooping down on Israel OR an international peacekeeping force involving western (American) and Muslim (Turkish) help to resolve the Palestinian question? Time is running out. Speaking of running out....doubt I will comment much further in next few weeks. My wife and I are off to China to visit various sites. Please pray God's protection on us if you remember. Thanks!

                      Kosovo's stark warning
                      By Caroline B. Glick
Kosovo's US-backed declaration of independence is deeply troubling. By setting a precedent of legitimizing the secession of disaffected minorities, it weakens the long-term viability of multi-ethnic states. In so doing, it destabilizes the already stressed state-based international system.

States as diverse as Canada, Morocco, Spain, Georgia, Russia and China currently suffer problems with politicized minorities. They are deeply concerned by the Kosovo precedent. Even the US has latent sovereignty issues with its increasingly politicized Hispanic minority along its border with Mexico. It may one day experience a domestic backlash from its support for Kosovar independence from Serbia.

                      etc...
By accepting the Roadmap Plan to a Two-State Solution in 2004, Israel empowered the US, the EU, Russia and the UN, who comprise the international "Quartet" to serve as judges of both Palestinian and Israeli actions towards one another. In November 2007, at the Annapolis conference, the Olmert-Livni-Barak government explicitly empowered the US to "monitor and judge the fulfillment of the commitment of both sides of the road map."

                      etc...

And if US or NATO forces are deployed to Gaza or Judea and Samaria, they will not be there to protect Israelis from Palestinian terror or to prevent the areas from acting as global terror bases. They will be there to establish a Palestinian state.

Failing to understand the meaning of Kosovo, the Olmert-Livni-Barak government refuses to understand this point. Indeed, the government is actively lobbying NATO to deploy forces in Gaza. Just as it wrongly hoped that UNIFIL forces in south Lebanon would fight Hizbullah for it, so today, the Olmert-Livni-Barak government insists that NATO forces in Gaza will fight Hamas for it.

                      etc...

Not surprisingly, Abbas's advisor and PA propaganda chief Yasser Abd Rabbo reacted to Kosovo's declaration of independence by recommending that the Palestinians follow Kosovo's example. Abd Rabbo said, "Kosovo is not better than us. We deserve independence even before Kosovo, and we ask for the backing of the United States and the European Union for our independence."
For its part, the Olmert-Livni-Barak government has responded to Kosovo's declaration of independence with customary confusion. But the lessons of Kosovo are clear. Not only should Israel join Russia, China, Canada, Spain, Rumania and many others in refusing to recognize Kosovo. It should also state that as a consequence of Kosovo's independence, Israel rejects the deployment of any international forces to Gaza or Judea and Samaria, and refuses to cede its legal right to sovereignty in Judea, Samaria, Gaza and Jerusalem to international arbitration.

Back from our trip to China. Noticed the attached in the news:
                          http://www.palestine-pmc.com/details.asp?cat=1&id=1549

There will be a meeting next Thursday of the "trilateral mechanism committee" chaired by US Lt. Gen. General Fraser III, involving the USA, Israel and the PA.
The "peace process" continues folks with increasing arm twisting behind the scenes to get a deal this year.

Here's another article that indicates what should be done immediately:http://middleeastprogress.org/2008/03/what-to-do-now-2/

Things are getting interesting leading up to this Thursday's meeting. Sunday Defence Minister Barak met with retired 4 star US General Jones, then Foreign Minister Livni took off for 3 day visit to the US (meeting with VP Cheney and Sec. Rice) before returning to Israel in time for the Thursday meeting involving the PA, Israel and serving USA Lt.General FraserIII who was appointed to follow up to the Annapolis deal. General Jones on the other hand is in charge of security arrangements in the West Bank, including plans to fill the void created by removal of IDFtroops as part of a new PA state launch. A sticking point has apparently been the rights of IDF forces to reenter the West Bank in response to attacks on Israel, when "peacekeeping" forces are already deployed there. Who is responsible for the dirty work??

Now there is news that VP Cheney will be heading off to visit Israel, the PA and yes Turkey starting this Sunday. Time for a full court press!
                              http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/03/...ast/cheney.php

WASHINGTON: With oil soaring to a record $108 a barrel amid mounting signs of U.S. economic turbulence, President George W. Bush said Monday that he was sending Vice President Cheney to the Middle East to raise concerns about oil prices and to press Israeli and Palestinian leaders to move toward peace.

Cheney will meet in Israel with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and on the West Bank with Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian leader, to urge both to "uphold their obligations" to move toward a peace settlement a stated priority for Bush in his waning months in office.

Cheney will also confer with Turkish leaders in Ankara.
