    Hizbullah Barged Through UNIFIL Forces
    07:28 Aug 22, '06 / 28 Av 5766

(IsraelNN.com) Hizbullah terrorists have shown their strength against UNIFIL guards at a funeral parade in Lebanon, where they dragged away U.N. barriers and opened gates. They had been told they could bury three terrorists at a cemetery outside the town of Nagoura, inside a UNIFIL compound, on condition that they did not wave political slogans or Hizbullah flags.

During the procession, several hundred chanting Hizbullah supporters overcame the French guards, who said, "They will eat us alive." The mob then waved Hizbullah flags and carried portraits of terrorist leader Hassan Nasrallah.

(IsraelNN.com) A Lebanese scientist has accused Israel of using radioactivity material in its retaliatory bombing attacks on Hizbullah terrorists targets. Mohamed Ali Qobeissi said a 10-foot deep crater contained "a high degree of unidentified radioactive materials"

He added that the Israeli weapons "probably contained a high level of uranium" but probably did not include radioactivity dust that causes cancer.

(IsraelNN.com) Egypt has deployed 1,300 policemen along the border with the Gaza region because of the threat that Arab terrorists will try to cross. They will join 750 Egyptian border guards who were deployed a year ago after Israel withdrew its forces form the area.

Hamas terrorists last month blasted a 20-foot hole in the barrier at the border.

U.S. Asks Security Council to Disarm Hizbullah
          08:38 Aug 22, '06 / 28 Av 5766

(IsraelNN.com) The United States has asked the U.N. Security Council to ratify a resolution calling for Hizbullah to be disarmed.

The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton, explained that this resolution should not delay the deployment of increased UNIFIL forces. He added that this deployment was essential due to the fragility of the cease-fire.

No, say it's not so, who would believe that Syria is supporting terriorist.

I wonder if Kofi would believe it, never mind he does not believe that
                there are terriorist except Israel.

                  "AMAN" Chief....not "Kofi Anan/Annan"

Do I assume this to be "Aman" in Jordan, aka Amman", that they are talking about?

(Trivia: Did you know that Amman, Jordan was at one time (and during the time of Christ) named Philadelphia. It was given that name by a ruler of Egypt. Rome took over the area and it joined with "the league of 10 cities" Decapolis. It later became the seat of the bishop during the Byzantine Era. The region was then taken over and renamed Amman, and the Caliph's made Damascus their capital. It was then destroyed by many earthquakes and natural disasters until the Circassians settlement in 1897, when Damascus and Medina where then connected via a railway by the Sultan and Amman became a major station and commercial area.

                  Geography
Amman is located in a hilly area of north-western Jordan. The city was originally built on seven hills, but it now spans over an area of nineteen hills (each known as a jabel or "mountain"). The main areas of Amman gain their names from the hills on whose slopes they lie.

The Citadel also is home to the Temple of Hercules which is said to have been constructed under the Roman empirical ruler Marcus Aurelius who reigned from AD 161-180, is similar to the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus.

Since Amman resembles Rome, as it is situated on seven hills, the city was a favorite place for Roman soldiers and officials. Behind the Roman forum stands a Roman theatre—the largest theatre in Jordan—with room for 6,000 spectators. Thought to have been built between AD 138 and AD 161 by the Roman Emperor Antoninus Pius, it is constructed into the side of the mountain and is still used for sport displays and cultural events.

Amman is also home to some of the grandest mosques in the Middle East. The newest of these is the enormous King Abdullah I Mosque, built between 1982 and 1989.

                  Nearby places of interest
Amman is conveniently located for many Jordanian attractions favoured by tourists. It is a mere 45 minute trip by car to several interesting locations:

The Baptism Site (Al-Maghtas in Arabic) on the River Jordan where Jesus is believed to have been baptized by John the Baptist
Mount Nebo where, according to Christians, Moses is supposed to have died
The unique ultra saline waters of the Dead Sea
Jerash, a city of the Decapolis and considered one of the most important and best preserved Roman cities in the Near East
The Hellenistic ruin of Qasr al Abd, in the nearby valley of Wadi Seer.
