"Righteous Gentile" has been a term applied to those who put their lives at risk to aid Jews during the Holocaust. eg Shindler's List. My friend John B lost his father in WW2. he died at Dachau as a result of giving shelter to Jews in Holland. His son received a "Righteous Jew" medallion and certicate from a grateful Israel.

I never heard the term "righteous gentile" before this Sanhedrin/Noahide article surfaced. I was just reading at the ZENIT site and among today's articles is one titled "Pope Pius XII as a "Righteous Gentile"...no connection to noahide........just interesting to see the term

Everything Jewish is post-Abraham!!!!!..so what gives????

Any thoughts? Am I missing something?
VERY odd, CNav - you'd think the Sanhedrin would be locked in on Mosaic Law ONLY.

Very strange times we live in.

Regarding the Noahide Laws as extending to Gentiles, is it a bit like the 4 rules outlined by the Apostles in Acts when the gentile believers started to grow in number. Clearly Paul and the others saw the time when Gentiles could come to God without becoming Jews. I find it fascinating that there is a similar process being worked out with the Noahide Council obedient to the Sanhedrin, although there substance certainly does not include Yeshua.
A few other tidbits about Vendyl. I have read in his researcher publication in the past about his respect for the Masonic orders. Presumably he sees some role for them in the building of a new Temple (of course the Ark and Tabernacle must be found first) Folks are aware I'm sure of the Masonic monument at the border between Israel and Egypt by Elath, also the layout of the Supreme Court building in Jerusalem is totally Masonic...(much like Washington DC for that matter). A little over a year ago I met Vendyl's daughter in Jerusalem. She is very heavily into Kabbalah, which strikes me as occult to be honest. She asked if I wanted to be part of the next dig...wouldn't that be interesting!! I thanked her but declined. I prefer to keep my distance from Vendyl but to watch his actions very closely. Would not surprise me at all if the goodies he is after in the Copper Scroll actually get found! Time will tell. He better hurry though. The whole area down by Qumrum is slated top be handed over to the arabs for a PA state sometime soon.

Sanhedrin Recognizes Council to Teach Humanity ´Laws of Noah´
Roger Grattan, a council aide who lives in Maine, told Arutz-7 prior to the ceremony, "I am sure that this will be a paragraph in the history of civilization, although one could also write books on it. It is also the fulfillment of prophecy."

    Good site faith...

    http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?...Noahide%20Laws

    Definition of Noahides

According to rabbinic Judaism, as expressed in the Talmud, the Noahide Laws apply to all humanity through their descent from one paternal ancestor who in Hebrew tradition is called Noah (the head of the only family to survive during The Flood). In Judaism, B'nai Noach (Hebrew, "Descendants of Noah", "Children of Noah") refers to all of mankind.

What I just don't get is .......... why the Sanhedrin is looking back to Noah and not post-Abraham, the father of the Jews/Israel...and why President Bush Sr/Congress passed that legislation re: the Noahide laws (post-Iraq six months after his NWO speech to Congress Sept. 11/91) All this is just very strange.

    from your link on Schneerson

During these appearances his followers would chant, what would come to be a very controversial "mantra" among the Lubavitchers : Yechi Adonenu Moreinu v'Rabbeinu Melech Hamoshiach l'olam voed! - "Long live our Master our Teacher and our Rabbi King Messiah forever and ever!" When sung before him in has last months, Schneerson evidently vigorously encouraged the singing by swaying to and fro and swinging his hand, as he had done at the numerous farbrengens over the years. From this and his previous public statements his followers "extrapolated" that he acceded to their wish that he be the "Messiah". But that moment never arrived, as he died unable to verbalize and say anything to confirm his followers' longed-for dream that he be the actual long-promised Jewish Messiah.

Schneerson never visited the State of Israel, where he had many admirers and critics. One of Israel's presidents, Zalman Shazar, was a religiously observant person of Lubavitch ancestry and his visits to Schneerson were reunions of sorts. Prime Minister Menachem Begin and later Benjamin Netanyahu also paid visits and sought advice. In the elections that brought Yitzhak Shamir to power, Schneerson publicly cajoled his followers and the Orthodox members in the Knesset to vote against the Labor alignment leading to articles in Time and Newsweek and many newspapers and TV programs.

John : I was going to post information on Vendyl's archaelogical claims. I had read he was a Noahide - but until now, did not really understand the implications of all of this...

Keep it coming - I am eating this stuff up.

And I think Debbie pointed out on another thread that the whole Kabbalist thing ties into this as Kabbalists are also into Noahide beliefs?? The guy who cursed Sharon was a Kabbalist, I recall??
The ceremony's organizers also include Rabbi Yosef Dayan from the West Bank settlement of Psagot, who was among the rabbis who had placed a pulsa denura on Rabin. After Rabin's assassination, Dayan was arrested for threatening to place a curse on Shimon Peres.
    http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/pages/S...ubContrassID=0

Rabbi Yosef Dayan from Psagot, known for his recent threats to place a death curse on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, is said to be a leading candidate to become the "king of Israel."

"Dayan has the best lineage to King David," several members of the Sanhedrin told The Jerusalem Post. They say he has two documented ancient sources which draw a direct line between him and the males in his family to King David some 3,000 years ago.

Rabbi Yosef Dayan, said that if asked to hold a Pulsa Denura, a mystical Kabbalah ceremony aimed at putting a death curse on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, he would do so.

Re: Sanhedrin to Hold Session With Worldwide Noahides Monday

The Sheva‘ Miswot Benei No’ah are seven laws considered by rabbinic tradition to be the minimal moral duties enjoined by the Bible on all men (Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 56–60; Maimonides’ Mishneh Torah, Yad Hazaqah, Melakhim 8:10, 10:12). According to Rabbanite tradition, every non-Jew is a "son of the covenant of Noah" (cf. Bere´**** [Genesis] 9). Someone, who takes on the obligations of the Noahide coventant is called a Ger Toshav [reident alien] (Babylonian Talmud, ‘Avodah Zarah 64b; Maimonides’ Mishneh Torah, Yad Haqakah, Melakhim 8:10). Maimonides equates the "righteous man (Hasid) of the Goyyim [nations - i.e., non-jews]" who has a share in the world to come even without becoming a Jew with the gentile who keeps the Sheva‘ Miswot Benei No’ah.
The Sheva‘ Miswot Benei Noah are defined in the Talmud and the Midrash, where it is claimed they were derived from divine demands addressed to Adam (Bere´**** [Genesis] 2:16) and Noah (Bere'**** Rabbah 34; Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 59b). As with many Rabbanite interpretations, the exegesis used to derive the Sheva‘ Miswot Benei No’ah is forced and relies highly on questionable methods of interpretation, as well as out-right invention. The Rabbis claim that as Adam and Noah were the progenitors of all mankind, the Noahide laws are to be regarded as universal.
ARE THE NOHAIDE LAWS ALL THEY CLAIM TO BE?
Talmudic texts seem constantly to alternate between two terms, reflecting contradictory assumptions as to the basis of the authority of the Noahide laws. These areas of authority are: the seven precepts "which were commanded" (SheNisawu) to the Noahides, and the seven precepts "which the Noahides accepted upon themselves" (SheQibbelu ‘Aleihem) (Babylonian Talmud, Bava Qama 38a; Jerusalem Talmud, ‘Avodah Zarah 2:1; Babylonian Talmud, Hullin 92ab; Babylonian Talmud, Horayot 8b; Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 56b).
The Talmudists, supposedly having received a clear tradition of seven Noahide Laws, had difficulty in explaining why other pre-Sinaitic laws were not included, for example procreation, circumcision, and the law of the sinew. They suggested two somewhat strained principles to explain the anomalies. The absence of circumcision and the sinew is explained through the contention that any law which predated the Torah and was not repeated at Sinai was applicable solely to Israelites (Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 59a), whence procreation, while indeed obligatory on non-Jews according to Rabbi Yohanan (Babylonian Talmud, Yevamot 62a) would nevertheless not to be listed (cf. Tosefot on Babylonian Talmud, Yevamot 62a s.v. Benei; Tosefot on Babylonian Talmud, Haghighah 2b s.v. Lo).

The 7 Laws of the Children of Noah
Applicability of the Seven Laws, permission to observe other laws of the Torah, permission and prohibition to learn Torah; proper intention concerning performance of Seven Laws; honoring parents; charity; interbreeding animals; grafting plants; circumcision; creating religions or new religious ritual observance; having children; burial

    1. With respect to God's commandments, all of humanity is divided into two general classifications: the Children of Israel and the Children of Noah.
    2. The Children of Israel are the Jews, the descendants of the Patriarch Jacob. They are commanded to fulfill the 613 Commandments of the Torah.
    3. The Children of Noah comprise the seventy original nations of the world and their branches. They are commanded concerning the Seven Universal Laws, also known as the Seven Laws of the Children of Noah or the Seven Noahide Laws.[1] These Seven Universal Laws pertain to idolatry, blasphemy, murder, theft, sexual relations, eating the limb of a living animal, and establishing courts of law.
    http://www.moshiach.com/action/morality/seven_laws.php

    Noahide Laws
also called Noachian Laws, a Jewish Talmudic designation for seven biblical laws given to Adam and to Noah before the revelation to Moses on Mt. Sinai and consequently binding on all mankind.
Beginning with Genesis 2:16, the Babylonian Talmud listed the first six commandments as prohibitions against idolatry, blasphemy, murder, adultery, and robbery and the positive command to establish courts of justice (with all that this implies). After the Flood a seventh commandment, given to Noah, forbade the eating of flesh cut from a living animal (Gen. 9:4). Though the number of laws was later increased to 30 with the addition of prohibitions against castration, sorcery, and other practices, the “seven laws,” with minor variations, retained their original status as authoritative commandments and as the source of other laws. As basic statutes safeguarding monotheism and guaranteeing proper ethical conduct in society, these laws provided a legal framework for alien residents in Jewish territory. Maimonides thus regarded anyone who observed these laws as one “assured of a portion in the world to come.” Throughout the ages scholars have viewed the Noahide Laws as a link between Judaism and Christianity, as universal norms of ethical conduct, as a basic concept in international law, or as a guarantee of fundamental human rights
