  • We got hit

Please forgive me for 'complaining' (may I call it sharing a burden?).

Storms early yesterday morning hit wind speeds of 80-90mph.
Thank the Lord that so many parts of our home held solid. Roof is fine, as is our fence, cars, etc...and we didn't lose electricity while millions did.
However, our covered patio got hit and most of it ended up projectiles to who-knows-where.
    Several thousands in damage.
    And my unemployment continues.
    Thus - oh well.
And its only the end of May/start of June and lots more big storms in the forecast.

Sometimes my "weary warrior" feeling is far worse than others. Trials and more trials.

Plz pray for us, y'all. I know we get VERY few views anymore

Praying Andy. You’re state has been hit with unbelievable storms. So much going on everywhere. It makes me wonder….what on earth is happening? Storms, wars, antisemitism, Christian persecution, political corruption like we’ve never seen before.
While we know the end, we still have to endure through this life and make tough decisions in various trials.
Also sorry to hear that you’re still unemployed. Hopefully you’re able to receive some benefits.

Dear Brother Andy, I am sorry about the damage to your patio cover, hopefully your homeowner's insurance will cover it. Otherwise, it's a blessing ya'll are okay. Don't worry about "complaining", we all need to vent from time to time. Most serious Christians I know are under heavy demonic attack and have been for a while. Satan knows his time is short. I have to remind myself that Satan doesn't attack luke warm Christians, only those sincerely trying to make a difference for Christ's Kingdom. I remind myself daily at least once, that I am a Daughter of the King. I have to remind myself to put on the full armor of God symbolically on a daily basis.
Insofar as your unemployment goes, I think you are at SS age? It isn't easy but I've learned to live on it. My lifestyle has changed dramatically and I fight feeling depressed about it. I try to consciously have an Attitude of Gratitude. I couldn't possibly work at my age with a disability that has gotten worse over the years. I just have to accept that if God wanted me to have more, He would give it to me. I'm trying to learn the lessons involved.
Praying for you dear brother. Maranatha!

My wife and I both just started receiving SS but it's a drop in the bucket compared to when I was working...and our cost of living has probably doubled due to some major issues that have hit us (not just the typical economy stuff).
Meantime, I discovered a serious fallout of the patio cover...water that now drenched the porch came into our master bath.

As for homeowners, yes, they would cover it but the deductible is totally out of reach.

Humanly speaking, we're in more and more trouble.

Well, Andy you are in the same position as most former middle Americans. I know exactly where you're coming from. I have learned to grocery shop at 4 different stores to save money. I rarely buy anything that isn't a necessity. The only thing that keeps me moving forward is intentionally praising and thanking God for all that I do have. In the big picture, if you look at the Church in 3rd world countries, we have clean water, shoes on our feet, a place to live that is safe. I confess to lacking gratitude at times and I repent of that. It is all relative. Praying for you brother.

Yup. We have much to be thankful for, and sometimes I have to 'force' myself to praise God in the storms...but once I start, it just starts flowing and what a difference it makes!
