Christians in the city were left on edge after menacing graffiti scrawled on the walls of the Armenian monastery in the Old City on Wednesday called for “Death to Christians,” “Death to Arabs,” “Death to Armenians” and “Revenge.”

The graffiti, written in Hebrew, represents yet another incident in a string of apparent hate crimes against Christians in the past two weeks.

I really have to ask, just put it out there---in what way is this different than how the Nazis treated the Jews? I can't believe that they don't see the parallel.

I think what really bothers me is the fact it has always been there to a degree, nothing new. But now it is getting serious and growing. Israel was able to stop it not long ago but now they have power in the Netanyahu government. This is getting serious.

Side note??? This could end up being something that is used to promote the Abrahamic idea in some communities within Christianity???? In Israel it would seem to already have a hold.
I'm sure some will use it outside Israel more.

Indeed, this is very troubling!

I figured there'd be a small shift and the stuff with the Supreme Court in Israel signalled that my hunch about the Sanhedrin coming to the forefront could happen.

But, this is *way* beyond the 1st century Pharisees. Sure, they persecuted Christians, but they didn't antagonize the people like that! The leaders persecuted the Disciples, killed James and imprisoned Peter, etc., but except for a few times with Paul in Acts they never really incited the people against the disciples; it was always just the leaders condemning Peter and John or imprisoning Peter or whatever. His sister's son, for instance, was free to walk around Jerusalem and to overhear the conspirators and then to go tell the authorities.

And while they might pray "I thank Thee I was not born a woman or a Gentile," theynever actively worked to harm Gentiles in Jesus' day.

No, I suppose it could settle down into something like the Pharisaical rule of Jesus' day, but there is something more sinister here, something really demonic with this kind of hatred.

Edit: I'd forgotten about Acts 7, it seems to imply the whole crowd was agaisnt Stephen But it just shows how demonic it was if it was, since verse 54 implies they were actually biting him -!

And then you start seeing the ties between Chabad and Kabbalah. Maybe this explains some of Netanyahu's willingness to align with the Ultra Orthodox, and some of the crazy stuff going on in Israel right now.
