jmvho? Republicans are totally under estimating the importance of the US keeping the free world united and supportive of the US control of the world order. Russia and China were cheering when Trump totally over estimated US power. Russia and China were both trying to take advantage of any weakness they saw. Putin has even admitted this and that he was stunned they were able to rally together.

Well, SAT, for once I disagree with you. Trump put enormous sanctions on Russia, enormous. He created tariffs on China for the first time. And he finally finally got NATO to start to pay their own way. We have a fiat economy, we are broke but continue to spend. I think that most of the Republicans in leadership understand that you cannot keep treating Europe as another welfare recipient forever. They have relied for too long on the US to provide security for them while they and their semi socialist leaders like Andrea Merkel, did almost nothing in spending to promote their own defense. I also think that the Democrats refuse to address the number one threat to national security, the Open Border and unenforced immigration laws that are literally letting thousands a month pour into this country and they are not by any means all from Central America. This is not even touching the issue of the Cartels and the tons of Chinese fentanyl pouring into our country on a daily basis.

It's complicated. And I will say it right here. I held my nose and voted for Trump the first time. I sincerely hope he does not run again.

I agree on some of what you say...
NATO countries weren't keeping up their end of the bargain, mostly because they really didn't believe Russia would do what they are doing today. Germany especially fell into that trap. Wakeup folks. They now get the fact Russia, China and allies are teaming up to create their version of the one world order which would totally weaken the US and their allies control of it. Something they have been screaming about for years.
My point? The US can't do it alone/dictate, if they tried Europe would eventually rebel

I am not happy about the pledge of $100 million to Palestinian hospitals. The funds that the US has sent to the Palestinians over the years rarely actually get anything done for the people due to the extreme corruption of the Palestinian leadership. I think he was throwing a bone to "The Squad."
