Knesset launches Abraham Accords caucus; Kushner and Ivanka Trump attend event | The Times of Israel

Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, former U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law and daughter, respectively, attended on Monday the inaugural meeting of a Knesset panel dedicated to the promotion of the U.S.-brokered normalization deals, which they helped put together as Trump's senior advisers.

The Caucus for Promoting the Abraham Accords, co-led by Knesset members Ruth Wasserman Lande of Kahol Lavan and Likud's Ofir Akunis, will work to strengthen economic and tourism ties with other state p

Ex-ambassador Friedman wants to show the Arab world a tolerant Israel

Like many other former US officials involved in the Abraham Accords, Friedman looked for a way to continue the efforts toward Israel-Arab peace outside of government. Rather than doing what Jared Kushner’s Abraham Accords Peace Institute and other organizations are doing, Friedman found a different niche
“I want to build trust through religious tolerance, to show how Israel respects the religious rights of all people and, in particular, of the Islamic world,” he said.
Monday’s gala dinner launch of the Friedman Center for Peace Through Strength will feature the world premiere of The Abraham Accords, a five-part documentary on the peace and normalization deals, which Friedman produced with the TBN Network.

David Friedman aims to boost Muslim tourism to Jerusalem

His inspiration, says Friedman, whose father was a rabbi, comes from the Bible — in particular, a verse from Isaiah 2:4 that is inscribed on the wall facing the United Nations headquarters in his native New York: “They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.”

“What is the paradigm of peace that essentially the entire world accepts?” asked Friedman, reciting the passage in Hebrew. “Isaiah’s vision, that nation will not lift up sword against nation and will not study war anymore, is the end product, but he also gives you a recipe for how to get there in the same verse and the prior verse, that the nations of the world will come to Jerusalem. Why will they come to Jerusalem? Because Jerusalem is the wellspring of all the values that the religious world holds dear and what will happen when they get there? Isaiah goes on to say that G-d will resolve their differences.”
Friedman calls it a “2,800-year-old vision” that still resonates with all the religions that recognize Isaiah as a prophet. He also says it’s a “logical extension” of moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in 2018, a step he facilitated for former President Donald Trump.

“I am very proud of what we did,” declared Friedman, whose office is filled with a mix of religious books and memorabilia from his nearly four years in diplomatic office.

“My idea is to make Jerusalem, which means ‘city of peace,’ worthy of its name and for Jerusalem to be part of the solution, not the problem,” he said. “People talk about commerce, trade and tourism and all those things, and, of course, that flow is from good relations. But by reducing or eliminating religious conflict, I think you really are able to build trust, and trust is what will drive these Accords to expand and to grow.”

Don’t miss TBN’s exclusive documentary series on the historic Middle East peace agreement, led by President Trump and signed at the White House September 15, 2020, by the President, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and representatives from the nations of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

While largely ignored by the mainstream media, TBN has delved deeply into the background and complex process that brought the Middle East nations together to sign onto the diplomatic initiative.

The result is an informative and beautifully produced five-part series, hosted by former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, and featuring exclusive interviews with former President Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, senior presidential advisor Jared Kushner, former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and many other world leaders and experts. Stay tuned for the premiere of The Abraham Accords, coming soon to TBN.

“One of the subjects [that will come up] in my trip to Washington [departing] tonight is expanding the number of nations that are in this agreement,” Lapid said during the event.

“I want to thank president Trump for his role in the agreements and thank opposition leader Netanyahu, who did a great thing with these agreements,” added Lapid.

Jared Kushner visits Jerusalem, tells Knesset members that it’s time to deepen, expand Abraham Accords to other Arab nations

In one year, the Accords have produced 30 diplomatic agreements and 60 economic agreements, Kushner said.

“It's imperative that all of us set extremely high expectations for what we want to see and achieve from the Abraham Accords for what they have the potential to be, for what they have, the potential to bring to our societies, to our families, to the region and really to the world,” he said.
All of the speakers thanked Donald Trump for his efforts in making these agreements a reality and Ratney reassured the Abraham Accords partners that President Joe Biden will continue in this path.

Yes, "Wow" sums it up but I'm actually in AWE at how God's Word is unfolding in such amazing, multifaceted ways.
NEVER DREAMED this part of the End Times would unfold like this - such beautiful animation, full of sweet, calming music because, don't 'cha know, we all want peace.
Well, except for the "radicalized" Muslims.

Umm...let's not forget the history of Mohammed and his "peaceful coexistence" for a few years until his enemies let down their guard and he had built his forces.
Why would folks want to serve a deceptive god? How do they know he's not being deceptive in any/all other teachings?

                          Silly me, stop being logical.

                            ADDRESS BY AMB. DAVID FRIEDMAN

Friedman Center For Peace Through Strength
                            Oct. 11, 2021
                            Museum of Tolerance
                            Jerusalem, Israel

It is with deep gratitude, and enormous excitement, that I welcome all of you to the launch of The Friedman Center.

We are right here in Jerusalem, of course, the eternal capital of Israel, on opening night at the Museum of Tolerance.

The Friedman Center, will open its doors to heads of state, lawmakers, government leaders, business leaders, and young people around the world with an emphasis on the Arab world.

We will help to present Jerusalem to the Muslim world, and to help to encourage [and] facilitate tourism to the Al Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam.

Many in the Muslim world understand Jerusalem totally through the prism of ancient conflicts and false rumors.

Through the Abraham Accords – hopefully to be joined in the future by many more [Arab country] partners – we will work to bring Muslims to Jerusalem, to see it for themselves.

To see the extraordinary care – certainly not perfect, but extraordinary nonetheless that Israel takes to safeguard the holy sites in Islam, including the Al Aqsa Mosque and other sites holy in Islam. [applause]

There are about two billion Muslims in the world, and only a tiny, tiny, tiny fraction have ever visited Jerusalem.

Their perception of Jerusalem comes only from their local media, which often has been, to put it charitably, less than fair.

To bring people of the Muslim faith to Jerusalem in meaningful numbers can truly change the calculus and the perception of Israel throughout the world.

And Muslim tourism, just so you know, was something that was a significant component of President Trump's “Vision For Peace” that we issued in January of 2020 and that was enthusiastically endorsed by the Israeli government.

                            We are on the cusp.

We are on the cusp of ending the Arab Israeli conflict and changing the Middle East for the next 100 years. [applause]

It’s all based on a simple premise: Israel can and should be the solution, not the problem, within the region. [applause]

                            A solution for scientists.

                            A solution for technology.

                            A solution for health care.

                            A solution for commerce.

                            A solution for regional security.

                            A solution for religious tolerance.

And, of course, a solution for peace.

Isaiah was recognized as a prophet in all the Abrahamic faiths.

The paradigmatic vision of peace that adorns the United Nations [comes from Isaiah]: “And they will beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning knives. Nation will not lift up a sword against nation, and never again will they learn war.” (Isaiah 2:4)

Isaiah also explains how he sees that vision occurring.

All the nations of the world will come to Jerusalem, where God will resolve their differences.

The road to peace goes through Jerusalem, says the prophet Isaiah.

Indeed, the name Jerusalem itself means city of peace.

The Friedman Center will work to actualize Isaiah's vision and to help make Jerusalem worthy of its name.

As you will observe in the film that will premiere shortly, the key to the Abraham Accords was the trust created among a small group of people.

The Friedman Center is committed to expanding that mutual trust from a group of people to a group of nations – and the essential component of trust within this region is mutual respect and religious tolerance.

And what a great place to begin to fortify that trust and tolerance is the right here in the Museum of Tolerance in Jerusalem.

With trust, there are no limits.

With trust, we can, and we will, change the world.

The Friedman Center for Peace Through Strength takes on this task with many partners of goodwill.

The strength – the strength to stand with our allies, the strength to stand for our principles, and the strength to stand with our faith while respecting others – these are the ingredients of achieving peace.

One key partner in our efforts is here this evening.

No one I know presents a better example of standing for peace through strength than our inaugural guest of honor, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. [applause]

No Secretary of State has projected America's values to the world like Mike Pompeo.

No Secretary of State has contributed more to a just and more peaceful world than Mike Pompeo.

No Secretary of State has more resolutely stood with Israel or further advanced the U.S.-Israel relationship than Mike Pompeo. [applause]

You probably know this already, but Mike Pompeo holds the single best resume in the entire world.

First in his class at the United States Military Academy at West Point

                            A distinguished soldier

A graduate of Harvard Law School

                            A successful businessman

A member of Congress who never lost an election – and I think never will.

The Director of the Central Intelligence Agency

And, of course, the Secretary of State [applause]

No human being can replicate his life experience.

Mike, if you were single, 30 years younger, and Jewish, you could be a perfect match for my youngest daughter.

                            [enormous laughter and applause]

Mike, you led U.S. foreign policy with enormous courage, exceptional skill, strength, compassion, humility and fearlessness.

And in so doing, you have made the world a better place and set an extraordinary example for future leaders.

We know from the NT there is someone coming very soon who will give this illusion, before our Lord's return. The one Isiah was actually talking about.
