Thanks..I just read it. I’m not sure how the government has a right to enter the premises and remove their possessions because of a parking lot. Does the government own the church building? They claim that it was part of the original agreement. That doesn’t sound right to me.

Well, it goes to what is in the lease. The letter they sent regarding the lease is found HERE. It looks like a rather standard lease agreement. Therefore, if anything had been "built" on the property leased, they could enter and remove anything in whatever had been built on the property in question. However, it sounds to me like the only thing there is part of a parking lot. So, I guess they enter the parking lot and remove the air above it - LOL.

Just in case, I would not park any vehicles on that lot, or have any other property on it come Oct. 1st. On the other hand, maybe I would put up a temporary building and fill it with signed petitions against the termination of the lease, Bibles, Christian tracts, graphic articles about abortion, etc... Can you imagine the headline, "State takes Bibles into evidence". Yea, maybe I would do that.

You know, the more I think about this, the more I think about 2 Corintians 6:14-18.. Specifically, being yoked to a lease for property with the city and county government. Iss, I would be most interested in your thoughts. Though not specifically related to this topic, I refer back to your post #11 in this thread quite often - see post 11 HERE. Were it were not for the lease, this would not be an issue.

It does seem like that means being unequally yoked. And makes it difficult to “render to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s”, as well as untangling in a concrete sense the separation of church and state. (Pun not intended!)
