Older 16th and 17th century English Bibles and the Greek Syrian text were used to produce the King James version.
I found an interesting thing on the topic. from one (or likely many) persons perspective, the arguement centers around the claim that the KJV was supernaturally God Breathed, that every word in the KJV was directly from God. therefore this made it far superior the the Hebrew and Greek texts, ((which are ""merely copies"" of the origionals)) and older 17th century Bibles that were used to create the KJV....!!!
The arguement is that God preserved His Word,,, and Only in the KJV...
Most usually a translation is somewhat inferior to the origional... Try exactly translating Spanish into English for example... its very difficult to get exactly the same intuitive meaning...
Its quite impossible to try to talk, reason with a person with this opinion....
It is very difficult to prove exactly what the truth is, other than the fact that other modern Bibles do corrupt basic Doctrine with their imho deleberate editing to support various dogma...
This however does not address the question as to wether the Hebrew and Greek Syrian text can somehow be inferior to the KJV...
Absent actual evidence, I personally must go by the logical idea that God used a God inspired translation that faithfully reproduced the origional Syrian texts in the English language...
As to origional texts, there are three
The Vatican text corrupted by Rome...
The Alexandrian corrupted by the Arian heritics there
And the Syrian which only the KJV uses...
Take your pick!!!
