  • Kushner expected to meet Netanyahu and Gantz on Israel trip

    https://www.axios.com/jared-kushner-...9d8446a2e.html

Netanyahu only has until Oct 23 to form government. At that time it is expected Rivlin will turn to Gantz to form the government.
The estimated date of Kushner visit is the end of Oct. after Netanyahu time expires.

Trump Adviser Jared Kushner to Visit Israel, Meet Gantz for the First Time

Kushner's visit will likely take place at a point in the coalition negotiations when Gantz will have been tasked to form a government.
Kushner's visit will focus on the Trump administration's peace plan for Israel and the Palestinians, which has been sidelined since the Netanyahu's failure to form a government after Israelis went to the polls in April. Kushner will be accompanied on his upcoming visit by his close aide Avi Berkowitz and by Brian Hook, a State Department official who is mainly responsible for America's Iran policy.

    Interesting no Greenblatt.

This is fascinating. It really does sound like they are measuring the situation for the possibility Netanyahu doesn't win out. It also sounds like Kushner is testing the road dealing with Gantz.

just a strange little side note.
Sheldon Adelson, the main witness in one of the cases against Netanyahu, is also a mega donor etc of Trump.

U.S. peace team to visit Israel by end of month

From Jerusalem, the team will continue to Riyadh to participate in an economic conference.
“We want a government, we desperately want a government – we want a government as much as Israelis do,” he told Israel National News in an interview.

“Israel is disserved by having this transitionary [sic] period for so long,” he added. “When the government is formed, no matter who forms the government, we’ll put out the plan, and we’ll do so in a way that we can immediately guide the government’s response to the plan.”

            Weird choice of words...

we’ll do so in a way that we can immediately guide the government’s response to the plan.
            Then off to Saudi Arabia.

re: Kushner, then off to SA

                Just saw this....

Abbas and Saudi crown prince meet, agree to establish economic committee

PA president thanks kingdom for ‘continued support of Palestinian people’; documents show Riyadh gave Ramallah $132.8 million between January and August

                And then...

Kushner to attend Saudi economic conference hosted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

                https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...766_story.html

In an email statement, a White House official said it was important for the administration to continue working with partners such as Saudi Arabia on a range of issues, including “the recent attack on the global economy” — a reference to drone and missile attacks on Saudi oil facilities last weekend.

Kushner, the person familiar with his plans said, is appreciative that the Saudis sent a significant delegation to the Peace to Prosperity economic workshop that he helped organize in Bahrain in June as part of the administration’s Middle East peace effort and is considering attending the Riyadh forum partly as a reciprocal gesture.

Very interesting cnav. The Palestinians may have boycotted the first economic conference, but it now sounds like they maybe creeping back on board. Even if only by placing the leadership on the Saudis

I wondered why Greenblatt was missing.

finalized his departure date from the White House and will now leave at the end of the month.
