From the article you posted cnav

Turkey’s vice president says his country won’t bow to threats in an apparent response to Trump’s warning to Ankara about the scope of its planned military incursion into Syria.
Fuat Oktay said in a speech on Tuesday that Turkey is intent on combatting Syrian Kurdish fighters across its border in Syria and on creating a zone that would allow Turkey to resettle Syrian refugees there.
Oktay said: “Where Turkey’s security is concerned, we determine our own path but we set our own limits.”

As cited in Post #9 above, the US decision to ". . . abandon the Kurds. . ." ( https://www.jpost.com/International/...ense-it-604006 ) says to the Israelis that they are all alone (at least they say that they fee alone.)

Rolling faster and faster down the slippery slope.

So odd - even after the software upgrade here I still don't see post numbers.
And it doesn't matter what computer I'm on so it apparently follows my profile for some weird reason.

Arab League to hold emergency meeting over Turkish offensive into Syria

The Arab League will hold an emergency meeting on Saturday, it said in a statement, following a call by Egypt for the body to meet over Turkey's offensive into Syria.

Egypt's foreign ministry, in a statement on Wednesday, "condemned in the strongest terms the Turkish aggression on Syrian territory," saying the offensive "represents a blatant and unacceptable attack on the sovereignty of a brotherly Arab state."

'A bloody conflict': Trump's actions in Syria will have long-term consequences

"It is certainly going to be a bloody conflict," Kurdish political analyst Mutlu Civiroglu said from Washington, D.C., noting that while the SDF is led by Syrian Kurds, it includes a wide range of ethnic groups. "The Arabs, the Syrian Christians, Yazidis, they are in no way going to accept a Turkish military presence in their region."

              Edit to add

remember it was just a couple of years ago the Kurds saved the Christians and Yazidis from ISIS. Protected them.

Russia, Turkey to increase trade in local currencies

Turkey and Russia signed an agreement to increase the use of local currencies -- Turkish Lira and Russian Ruble -- in bilateral trade, the Russian Finance Ministry announced on Oct. 8.
Turkish Finance and Treasury Minister Berat Albayrak and his Russian counterpart Anton Siluanov signed the agreement on Oct. 4.
Within the scope of the agreement, commercial institutions' demand for two currencies will be raised and a proper finance structure will be established.
The agreement will also enhance the use of Russia's National Payment Card (MIR) and Financial messaging system of the Bank of Russia (SPFS), which is an alternative of the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) -- in Turkey.
Parties will also develop debt securities for Russian and Turkish exporters.

                          Little side note
Interesting comments from Joel Rosenberg re the Kurds included in article

The most interesting thing about Rosenberg's comments???
On Friday another gap appeared between what Israel/Rosenberg thought and reality..

At evangelical conference, concerns about Syria but cheers for Trump
Prominent evangelical leaders have sharply criticized U.S. President Donald Trump over his decision to pull American military forces out of Syria, saying he was endangering tens of thousands of Christians in the Muslim-dominated region.
But the response was more muted at an annual conference of religious conservatives on Friday in Washington, where some Christian activists were concerned about the Syria move but willing to give Trump the benefit of the doubt.
                          https://www.reuters.com/article/us-u...-idUSKBN1WQ2QM

and articles starting to show up(in Israel) saying Trump knows he can get away with anything and the Christian right will keep supporting.
With quotes claiming Trump aides saying things like "Who else are they going to vote for, Elizabeth Warren"
