  • UN asks Palestinians to explain hate speech, antisemitism

The Palestinian Authority was called to task for hate speech and antisemitism in its official statements and in its textbooks during the government’s first ever review by the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination held in Geneva on Tuesday.

“Several NGO reports pointed out antisemitic and anti-Israel prejudice and incitement to hatred, especially in the [Palestinian] media and speeches of state officials. Can the state party [the PA] provide any explanation in this regard?” asked committee member Chinsung Chung of South Korea. She is the special rapporteur for the Palestinian Authority’s review by the committee. Its members paused to note the “historic” quality of the moment before tackling the more complex issues at hand.

Palestinians revive charge Zionism is racism at UN hearing

“What we face is the Zionist movement," PLO Ambassador to the UN in Geneva Ibrahim Khraishi said. "I would like to remind you that in 1975, the General Assembly adopted Resolution 3379, indicating that Zionism is a form of racism. That is the root of the problem that we face."

He did not mention that the UN had revoked that resolution in 1991.

The world is now putting the pressure on the Palestinians. Countries have been cutting off fund and demanding accountability.

It has always just been a tool . The difference??? Now it appears it is the Palestinians who aren't cooperating with the peace deal.

Palestinians fear UNRWA mandate may not be renewed

The Palestinian leadership is worried that the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) may not be renewed next month due to charges of corruption in the agency.

The Palestinians are also concerned about the recent decision of the Netherlands, Switzerland and Belgium to temporarily suspend funding for UNRWA in the aftermath of allegations of graft and sexual misconduct among the its senior management.

Slowly but surely the world is no longer turning a blind eye to the open and blatant hatred that's so one-sided.
This sure is interesting - wonder when they will "unite" against Iran's, "...death to Israel" chants.

Just mvho Andy??? It wasn't a "blind eye" but by choice. So the question now should be, "Why have they now shifted that decision??????"
