The church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.

Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.

          Well, I'm BAAAAAAAACK
          >>>no fish<<< The lake is 5 feet below "normal" only a couple feet deep in places... maybe the fish could not find the bait or see the lures due to the silty water.... a couple people caught a couple fish.....One big bass swirled 5 feet from my fishing pole and I saw several more....
I went up to Julian for PIE and lunch and after an hour my car would not START !!! So after waiting 2 hours for the tow truck, my car started... so back to the lake fished this morning... it had been 46 this morning as we left the cabin at sunrise to fish , ... the car started and I got home ok so pray that its not to $$ to fix...

Log in to PC with different profile and try again - if you don't have one set up then do that first, giving the new profile Admin access.

Can't tell you how many times that fixes weird issues like this.

Staying with Julia and babies because her husband has gone back to work and is now training on patrol overnights. I just wanted to share how blessed I feel to be given the honor of being a grandparent. It has been a joy to watch them grow and change. Julia and I have been discussing starting Ricky in some type of interactive toddler group. He is ready I think. Hoping to find something in the church they have been going to. Did anyone here have any programs you had your kids in that you think is solid. I know he is only 18 months but you gotta get them while they're young

Just saying howdy from the beautiful shore of Lake Superior . Or as the Native Americans call it Gichi-gami. It is the largest body of fresh water in the world. Some of you may remember Gordon Lightfoot and his song "The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". It is a whole different world up here. And only a 3 hour drive from our home in the Twin Cities. Roger and I are taking a few days to relax and get away from the busy world. God's majesty is clearly evident here. So a afternoon of reading and playing cribbage and just being in the Lord's presence without thinking too hard about the cares and troubles of our world. I figure it will still be there when we come back. So listening to the waves crashing against the shore and watching the huge cargo ships go by is a blessing

This is never good after a painful, 2-hour exam by a specialist:
"I've been doing this since 1978 and I have to say that yours is one of the most rare knees I've ever seen"

Note this guy travels the world training doctors on how to do some special diagnosis procedures AND - he treats NFL players.
                    He ain't no slouch.

                    What did he find?
Severe calcification all throughout the joint including tendons (common) ligaments (uncommon) and soft-tissue surrounding the bones (rare).
"Calcification in a joint is like hydrochloric acid to it"

Nice to know why all the pain...

Yes, there is a procedure to try to remove it but in my case it'll be multiple procedures because some of what's down there has hardened as hard as a bone and has to be 'dissolved', basically, before it can be extracted with an 18-gauge needle (can't wait)

Oh...and I have to be awake for this...
                    (REALLY can't wait!)

                      Andy,

My Dietitian wife, wonders if you don't have a thyroid problem causing some of the calcification? Surely, you have had a thyroid test?

Thanks, John - no, it's a joint that sustained significant injury 38 years ago...including neuro damage. Doc said between that and the multiple surgeries I've had on it over the decades and it's in pretty bad shape. Something about "expansion" occurring, too.
Anyway, longing for that new body...like we all are.

Maybe its time for a peg leg
Yes, the mistakes we make follow us a lifetime.... in my case I was sledding down a hill about age 12 and hit a tree
Totally gave me scoliosis, a lifetime of chryopractic, & forced retirement at age 52... getting hit by a truck a few years before that didnt help either

In my case it was an accident - not being foolhardy or anything. Even though I was a typical teenage boy in many ways ("Indestructible") that time I was simply riding my 10-speed bike on a gravel parking lot when things didn't go so well. "Found" a concrete parking block with momentum, weight and good-old gravity...square on the inside of the R. knee.

That's what I've been saying for over 3 decades! Found an amazing pain mgmt Dr. that implanted a neurostimulator (I know many here know this - I'm rewriting it for the benefit of new visitors) and the mild, 24x7 stimulation to the nerve root (in spine) has all but shut down the neuropathy... P T L. But...the badly damaged joint continues to give a lot of problems including this calcification. But having that misfiring nerve (actually there's more than one that's damaged but all go through the same root in spine) quieter is a massive blessing.

Again, I bring this up to give a visitor something to really think and pray about...if you're dealing with neuropathy, and it's in a specific part of the body, I suggest this as something to look into...it's been life-changing for me. Spinal Cord Stimulator or Neurostimulator - Google it if you want to know more (and I'm happy to answer whatever questions, too - PM me)
