When you get some veggies from the store that have some root and green leaves / stalk still on it, the best way to preserve them is to put them back in the ground!! watering your small square foot garden daily and They will re-root quickly and wave at you as you walk by
Thing is, you have to pull them up at night when they are asleep otherwise they pout...
my small garden is doing very well and i am having fresh peaches every morning and fresh tomatoes for almost every sandwich..... and if I need an onion, i sneak up on one and have it in the pot before it knows its been snucked
Soon I will have red and green peppers, later some sweet peppers, squash, and later by summer Plums and for Christmas, Tangelos.
