  • PM mulling new elections after Liberman ‘blows up’ coalition talks — report

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly told Likud officials he is mulling calling new elections due to Yisrael Beytenu party head Avigdor Liberman’s refusal to back down from his demands on religion and state issues.

Does Netanyahu believe he can also stall the "deal of a century"??????
Apparently it was difficult enough to get Trump to stall it the last time around, and they have already started the process this time. It would become a joke.

What does he have to gain by constantly delying it? (Bibi)

That is a good question Andy. All we know is that Netanyahu has in the past, pre Trump, used this to stall the plan of the day. It worked.
Not this time. Instead, the reasoning used the last time, with Trump, was that he feared people finding out what was in the deal and the election becoming about the peace deal Trump was offering, as Trump and Netanyahu have become one in Israel.

Oddly it all has one thing in common. What will Israel look like as the visions collide.

It may not be Bibi !!! My take is that the minor parties want all the major government posts AND want the religious Jews to continue to be exempt from military service

            Yep and some.
            religion and state issues
            Another option...

Running out of time, Netanyahu may seek to swear-in coalition without majority

            https://www.timesofisrael.com/runnin...hout-majority/

But that would leave Netanyahu in a precarious position of being able to be brought down at any time. With the peace deal just around the corner.

Not sure he would want to go that as his government wouldn't last long with the battle of
            religion and state issues
going on. Plus his immunity law would be in jeopardy.

Abbas Advisor We Palestinians Say to Trump: No to Bahrain, Bribes and Never-ending Occupation

Our message to those attending the Manama meeting: Don't join the Trump administration's efforts to undermine our rights - we will never accept economic bribes instead of freedom
I think the entire world (me included) is tired of the continual delays on presenting The Deal of the Century. I think it will be born dead on arrival. I think its entire purpose will be to birth the Daniel 9:27 Covenant.

I think the AC will "confirm" or "make greater" Trump's Deal to give the Palestinians what they want the most and divide Israel.

Supreme Court said ready to take ‘extreme steps’ to stop curbing of its powers

Judges on the Supreme Court have warned they could take “extreme steps” in order to block legislative proposals that could severely curtail the court’s powers and shield Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from prosecution, Israeli television reported Friday.

“It seems as if the prime minister and the candidates for the role of justice minister want to shatter and destroy the legal system,” Channel 13 news quoted unnamed Supreme Court justices saying during private talks.

Police: Settlers hurl rocks and slash tires of response force in West Bank

Dozens of masked settlers attacked a police convoy in the northern West Bank on Saturday afternoon, requiring security forces at the scene to request backup after far-right activists hurled stones at them and slashed the tires of their vehicles, authorities said.
Police said that forces were responding to a report of clashes between Palestinians and Israelis in the area of the Kipah Srugah outpost, north of the settlement of Yitzhar.

Loophole could give Netanyahu two more weeks to build coalition

Sources close to President Reuven Rivlin noted that he charged Netanyahu with building “the most wide and stable government possible.” Rivlin is not expected to make a statement about whether a coalition of 60 MKs without Yisrael Beytenu is acceptable
But the sources revealed that according to the law, there is a loophole that could give Netanyahu another two weeks to form a government.

According to Basic Law: The Government, if the MK the president chose to form a government fails to do so, the president may grant another MK four weeks to build a coalition. But if it is clear to him that there is no other MK who can do so, Rivlin, could recommend to Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein to disperse the Knesset and initiate an election within 100 days.

In such a scenario, a majority of the Knesset could then ask Rivlin to give Netanyahu another chance to build a coalition. Netanyahu would then be given 14 more days, and only if he fails, elections would be initiated automatically.

Likud floats possible coalition compromise in attempt to avert new elections

Likud’s chief negotiator, MK Yariv Levin, said Sunday that the ruling party had reached an agreement with three out of five of its likely coalition partners — with the exception of Yisrael Beytenu and Kulanu — to “preserve the status quo in all legislation pertaining to church and state.”
