I don't know what the Green Zone is or represents but we all know an attack on any Embassy is an attack on the nation to whom it belongs.
I call this an escallation

The tough talk is probably all they understand. I also think they’re doing everything they can to provoke a war with us and also with Israel.

Looking at it from their perspective, they have no choice. Not a choice that lets them retain their dignity.
Just like Japan in 1941, Iran is being backed into a corner that will result in a complete collapse of their economy and regime.
Toss in there their beliefs about the 12th Iman showing up in the midst of chaos and ... as they see it, they really have little choice.
