The End of MWM

Greetings all,

Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.

Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.

What a glorious day that will be.

In Christ alone,
Andy

Kerry to update Arab League on Israel-Palestinian talks

According to a State Department statement released Wednesday, Kerry will fly to Paris and Kuwait from January 11-15 and update the Arab League “on the ongoing final status negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians, as part of his continued engagement with our Arab League partners on the issue.”

US denies Kerry pressing Arab League to recognize Israel as Jewish state

With US Secretary of State John Kerry scheduled to meet top Arab League officials next week, State Department officials denied efforts were under way to get the league to alter its 2002 peace initiative and recognize Israel as a Jewish state, thereby paving the way for the Palestinians to do the same.

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki, at her daily press briefing Wednesday afternoon in Washington, denied reports that Kerry was pressing the kings of Jordan and Saudi Arabia to alter the Arab League peace initiative.

[QUOTE=SAT;251947]Finance minister: Israelis face economic losses if they don't reach deal with Palestinians

I'm not too sure Israel is concerned about this. Their GDP is close to $250 Billion (US), with a per capita GDP of around $33,000. Their literacy rate is 100%. About 20% of Israelis live below the poverty line, but most of those are Israeli Arabs and Haredi Jews. If Israel's export market dries up however, because of some insane sanctions imposed on them, then yes, there will be financial impacts.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman turned some heads on Friday when he urged Israel to accept the peace deal currently being brokered by Washington.

Liberman, who spoke to the British Telegraph newspaper, said that the offer being promoted by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was “the best offer Israel will ever receive.”

He told the newspaper, in his first major interview since returning to office in November, that Kerry deserved praise and thanks for his efforts to bring Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) together.

He added that it was “crucial” for Israelis to maintain contact with the PA, no matter how limited the prospects of success

Abbas warned Saturday that "there will be no peace" without a Palestinian capital in east Jerusalem.
Well, that kinda sinks it, doesn't it? The Palestinians want it all, just like Arafat did at Wye River, when he was offered east Jerusalem and 98% of the West Bank. If you remember, Arafat walked out of that meeting.

                      Yep!

It's funny I debated to post this as we already knew this. None of us would be surprised. Least of all Israel.

The Palestinians truly believe they can hold that position as every plan ever devised by the world since 1948 has Jerusalem divided.
But God.... The only one who really counts and will have the final word.

The death of Sharon is a reminder of the failure of Gaza.

The Palestinian reaction, their comments and possible threats. The soon announcement of the finding of King David's palace. Almost seem like little birth pains/tremors, reminders, all on their own.

Whether people believe or not, the Rabbi's prophecy, won't be far from the minds of many, especially among Jews.

You just had to know this was coming.

In tributes to Sharon, a not-so-subtle message for Netanyahu

John Kerry extols late leader for making ‘tough decisions’ and realizing that ‘peace will make Israel stronger’ — intended as a clear lesson for the current prime minister

Netanyahu hails Sharon the fighter, but doesn’t mention peace efforts

Israel’s leaders mourn loss of ‘brave warrior, unique statesman’; Peres eulogizes ‘great friend’; settler leader prefers to remember him before Gaza pullout
