and the Druze in the Golan make up half the population. Half a family can be on one side, and the other part on the other side.

That is why they are angry. This was their home.

              reminder

When Netanyahu pushed "Nation State" laws through one of the groups that were angry were the Druze as they have always joined the IDF. Now they could be separated and the ones who live on the Israel side considered second class citizens.

Gulf countries issue tepid criticism of U.S. over Golan recognition

In a thirty-three word statement Bahrain joined Saudi Arabia in issuing a statement in response to the US decision. “Bahrain’s foreign ministry reaffirms its position that Golan Heights are an Arab and Syrian territories, occupied by Israel since June 1967, as it is confirmed by the resolutions of the UN Security Council.” Riyadh’s statement was slightly stronger, noting that the decision “will have significant negative effects on the peace process in the Middle East and the security and stability of the region,” a statement on Saudi Arabia’s state news agency SPA said. This joined Kuwait and the UAE in similar short responses.
