  • Orion star can "soon" nova

Yes, recent science has concluded that Beteljuece is extreemly unstable, badly mishapen with violent eruptions throwing off
a lot of its gas, etc.... being at the end of its life, it will nova and maybe even supernova sometime "soon" in astronomy terms...
We are far enough away, some 400??? lightyears, that its direct explosion wont reach us-- however its radiation
    might affect our sun..
but no one knows...If you're a science geek, its a fascinating study...47 minutes... really amazing what they can now "see"

This was fascinating - thanks for posting it.
But - at 640 light years away seems to me the star could have already gone super nova since it takes 640 years for the light from it to hit/be seen from earth.
