  • Are people watching us from heaven?

It was mentioned again if our family in heaven are watching... I sure hope not!!! I have made SO MANY poor choices... dumb mistakes... I certainly have had the poor angels wringing their hands over -- everything... Reminds me of Paul's statement that he was the chief of sinners !!!

As to the question, I really don't know... Any educated opinions out there in Wedggie-land ??

Well, I'm not sure about that, but Luke 16:19-31 seems to indicate that those in hades can see into heaven.

    The Rich Man and Lazarus

I can't get the verses to show up, but the hyperlink above works, I think.

I have contemplated this many times, Lewis.
What comes to my mind is what my dad said many years ago.
A man of God, second to no one I have ever known, this man was saved from a life only he and God knows but he was basically saved when shot on the battlefields of Saint Lo (WWII, outside of Normandy - look up Hedgerows if you want to know more about the horrors he faced). If anyone ever DEEPLY loved the Lord Jesus, this man did. I remember him one time telling me how he contemplated heaven and how he envisioned one of 2 postures: One, on his face at the feet of his Savior in total worship and the other, in an almost stoic, constant gaze into the face of Jesus. Either way the point was this: He knew he would be SO COMPLTELY ENRAPED at being in the very presence of his Lord that NOTHING else would matter. Least of all, what is going on, on the earth he finally had left behind.

The more I walk with the Lord the more I see this as well. Whether we "can" see what's going on or not - will not be the issue, at all. The only thing that will matter is - Jesus, and being with Him.

No, this doesn't answer that particular question but in one sense, it does.

Well Scriptures tell us that a cloud of witnesses behold us. Not sure of book and verse but lots of speculation on who or why. I thought no I should be one that will be kissing the feet of our Lord because I don't think we know quite the true sacrifice He made for us. Of which I totally do not deserve. My oldest was saying the other day that while she looks forward to the rapture she also fears it. I told her most everyone has felt that way because we know we don't deserve it. But it is our blessed hope.

I'm so thankful I don't deserve it, Jackie.
This way when I'm in front of the Bridegroom that called me home I can give Him all the glory...and be amazed at His grace extended toward me.
I remember having a small fear of the rapture and, for me, it was just a typical, "fear of the unknown" that we as humans often face.

Think of all the sadness, coruption a misery here on earth, The curse and on and on. If you are in heaven then that is what it is. (Heaven) no more of what you experienced here on earth of which will not be brought to mind. That is my thought and beleif. dwell on that and forget about that agonizing question whether they know about what is going on here on earth

Exactly my thoughts, Winston. No more pain, hunger, sadness, disappointment, etc. There will be no recollection of earthly issues. I do believe that if there IS an understanding of earthly things (after we get to Heaven) we will also have a Godly understanding of why things are as they are on the earth, which should prevent us from having any qualms about those issues..

I'm not sure if we will be aware of what/s happening here on earth, but I doubt we will be concerned, we will be in the presence of Jesus worshiping him

He says He will wipe all tears from our eyes, so it must be that our human nature won't experience grief and pain when we are in heaven with Him!
