  • Pope: the economic crisis has ethical roots, we need a global rethink of whole system

    http://www.asianews.it/news-en/Pope:...tem-28022.html

"The current economic and social crisis adds urgency to this 'rethinking' and brings out the truth and relevance of the Churches social teaching even more." Inside the crisis is the phenomenon of unemployment, "the lack and of loss employment, which is spreading like wildfire in large areas of the West and which is alarmingly spreading the confines of poverty. And there is no worse material poverty, I am compelled to emphasize, than that which does not allow people to earn their daily bread and deprives them of the dignity of work. By now this 'something is wrong' no longer concerns only the South, but the entire planet. This is why there is an ever greater need to 'rethink solidarity' no longer as simple assistance to the poor, but as a global rethinking of the whole system, such as finding ways to reform it and correct it in a manner consistent with the fundamental human rights of all men. We must restore this word 'solidarity', which is not well seen by the economic world - as if it were a bad word - its well-deserved social citizenship".

What are the three areas of a country? Is it political, legal and religious? It is absolutely amazing to me to see a major world religion pick up the new world order and run with it. It took a long time to reach this point but the world is ready. They are not going to let his opportunity slip by..to let this train pass without jumping on board right now. So full of hope and joy..but in the end, when that train reaches its final destination, it will not be what they expected.

So very true Lightseeker. This pope says:

This is why there is an ever greater need to 'rethink solidarity' no longer as simple assistance to the poor, but as a global rethinking of the whole system, such as finding ways to reform it and correct it in a manner consistent with the fundamental human rights of all men.
It's as if he and so many others, believe everything will be good .. poverty wiped out, if we can "just come up with a just-right system." The problem is the sin nature of man, not "the system isn't right." The can reform it and "correct it" all they want, but at best, they will only reform it. Big deal .. it's been done before and will be done again and their will still be greed and poor.

The designers of any such system are sinful people and sinfulness is intrinsically selfish. Come out from among them and join to Christ; not that is a "system" .. no, scratch that .. a life, that will work. But ... these last days prophecies will be fulfilled.

      Issachar
The church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.

Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.

Psalms 122:8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

The KAICIID's aim is just that to become political, legal and religious...in each country! Post #1 here........the country must adapt

        From post #5 here......

The Center (a global interfaith center = religious) is an international legal entity (legal) empowered to conclude agreements and take whatever decisions it sees important for carrying out its tasks and message (political)

            Reuters Nov 2012

            http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...8AK0NG20121121
Although launched by Riyadh and named the King Abdullah International Centre for Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID), bin Muaammar stressed it is not a Saudi entity.

            "This is an international institution
," he said. "About 70 percent of the world's religions are on its board.

In fact, the centre is the first global organization focused on religion and is backed by an international treaty signed by Austria, Spain and Saudi Arabia. Most other dialogue efforts are linked to churches or non-governmental organizations.

Global and international but......Both the three sponsoring states, which appoint the board and approve its budget and projects,

The centre plans initial work in three fields. Its "Image of the Other" program will have experts study how other faiths are portrayed in their media and education,

Given its multifaith approach, Rosen said the centre had the potential to address not only global issues such as education and health but also bring religious authority, especially from the Muslim world, to bear on social and political issues
            .

somehow I doubt that the moslem leaders have any intention of sharing their oil wealth with anyone !!! They certainly have never done so except for small grants to the Palestinians .....

imho they want to use this agency to advance islam and 2ndly to bankrupt the west through wealth sharing which will also advance islam...
