  • Texas tornadoes

I know, this is "ho-hum" for most but - one of the 2 cities that was hit the hardest is where my 2 children live and my daughter has two little ones both under 2 yrs old. Tense night last night for all of us. I'm trying to reach my daughter but no response yet. However - I stayed in text contact with her till the worst had passed so am confident she/the babies are okay. I just wonder if they lost power - looks pretty bad. Entire school system there is closed as most of them sustained damage.

We (my beloved and I) are okay ... just some severe t'storms with high wind, some hail - God kept our rotting fence from toppling (again) and despite how many trees are on our property it looks like not a single limb was broken...truly amazing given what we went through.

I think I have been in everything but a earthquake and a meteor strike.
So far tornados are the worst.

They do the most damage where they hit as their wind speeds can far surpass the strongest hurricane - but of course a hurricane hits a far larger area at one time and when storm surges are added to the equation it can get real bad, real quick in a very large area.
I found this info to be fascinating but then I'm a bit of an amateur weather-buff.

I've only been within a mile of a tornado and I have personally witnessed rotation in clouds right above our back yard..but it didn't develop into a full funnel-cloud, thankfully.

I prefer not to be in either!

Just heard from my daughter....everyone is fine and apparently no damage. PTL

I am so glad you and your family are ok. You were on my mind last night as I read that these horrible storms were in your area. Praying for your daughter and family.
