  • twisting scriptures to fit

Ijust got through looking at a teachers timeline and opinion..... I will not link to it since its imho a gross distortion and misapplication of prophecy.....

like many such, it sounds interesting to those uneducated in prophecy. however by carefully looking at what we do know, it becomes readily apparent that scriptures, times , years were "cherry picked" to prove the teachers point, while avoiding the context they were meant for.

we really have to be carefull about this..... we must search the scriptures daily to be assured that we have truth..... and when someone comes along saying that he has it all figured out and that the end just has to be in this or that year because of whatever signs in the heavens or that its 7 years after some number of years after whatever, we know its not the case.....

Gods timing has only to do with His soverign will, not in relation to anything
    else.

So very true, brother Lewis. Let scripture stand alone and watch in amazement at how perfectly God will fulfill every jot and tittle - not do, what I like to call, "Scriptural Gymnastics" where we're twisting, flipping and spinning scripture around to make it fit our news.

      Note:
I do not perceive anyone here is doing this! What I believe Lewis is talking about are "teachers" that take an event in our news and unequivocally say this event is a fulfillment of this prophecy. Our discussions on this board where we see events and put scriptures out that the event may be a fulfillment (or partial fulfillment) is, IMHO, completely different. We're a discussion site, not an end-all site whereas some of these people are staunch on their position to the point of being unwilling to even consider they might be wrong.

Huge difference, as I see it. Suffice it to say if someone were to clearly misapply a scripture out here there would be plenty of opportunity to dispute this.
