Parents! You Don't Own Your Children - They Belong to the Collective
The church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.
Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.
I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken - dylan
Psalms 122:8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Re: Parents! You Don't Own Your Children - They Belong to the Collective
Such baby-steps from the first introduction of such notions decades ago. At first it made perfect sense: Mom, dad, family, good schools, good neighborhoods, government that knows where the boundaries are, available healthcare, etc...you know, a whole "village" to raise a kid right. But we've 'slowly' slipped into this mindset where the government thinks it has no boundaries and owns everyone.

You got this on before me Andy- Hillary's book "It Takes a Village". Sad stuff.
While searching the internet on this topic, I found a disturbing article from last Fall concerning statements in Pravda, the old, but resurrected, Soviet newspaper. Glenn Beck commented on it here.
The story was picked up by Forbes this past January. From the article....
Quoting Putin, “During the time of the Soviet Union the role of the state in economy was made absolute, which eventually lead to the total non-competitiveness of the economy. That lesson cost us dearly. I am sure no one would want history to repeat itself.” Yet the editorial opines that, “President Putin could never have imagined anyone so arrogant or so willing to destroy their people like Obama, much less seeing millions vote for someone like Obama.”
Incredulously, it asks, “They [we] read American history don’t they? Alas, the schools in the U.S. were conquered by the Communists long ago and history was revised, thus paving the way for their Communist presidents. Obama has bailed out those businesses that voted for him and increased the debt to over 16 trillion with an ever-increasing unemployment rate, especially among blacks and minorities. All the while, promoting his agenda.”

Once when in England for my work, my host, who owns a quite large company, asked me over dinner during a discussion of politics, if I was a Republican or socialist. I said, do you mean Democrat? He said ... ya, socialist .. democrat .. same, right?
