  • **North Korea says to enter "state of war" against South Korea

I debated on starting another thread and decided this warranted a new thread.

    Still idle threats?
We shall see but this sure sounds like a legitimate escalation.

Re: **North Korea says to enter "state of war" against South Korea

What's the tone over there John? Are the South Koreans concerned that the ratcheting up of Kim Jung-Un's rhetoric will lead to any provocative action on the part of the North? I've read analyses saying that the South could decimate the North without any US aid, which begs the question- then why does the US still have such a big presence on the peninsula?

IMO, Kim must do something in order to establish his legitimacy. Toothless threats eventually wear thin, and in order for him to save face among his people, and especially among his military, he will probably act in some measure, hopefully in a small way. But Park Geun-hye will not back down, and he would show measured restraint, tit-for-tat. But that deeply concerns me. I slap your face, you slap mine. I slap your face again, only harder. You return the slap in kind, and so on until something each side would regret happens.

I think perhaps the US, China, and Russia need to come up with a backup plan.

Hi John. Are your implications that all this is nothing based on so far seeing nothing happen? Or do you have other info that says, nothing will happen?

If the former, that's always true up until something does happen. If the latter, please share .. Are their journal/newspaper items over there that say "no way" that we don't have access to, over here?

There are thousands more tornado warnings issued that tornados that actually happen/touch down.

          Thanks,
          Issachar
The church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.

Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.

I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken - dylan

Psalms 122:8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Wonderful...glad the civilians don't seem to be too concerned, yet. Somehow I doubt the leadership is quite as relaxed with the whole thing.

Larry, I watch, a lot, and it's not the news. I may be a school teacher, but that's not all I've done.

What I can say is that this somewhat different, yet still the same. I've been here when each of the Kim's have been in power. Is Jong-Un foolish enough to do something stu@id, maybe, he is still a child compared to the age his father and grand father were when they took over.
