  • Who has seen the new 'Left Behind' movie?

I'm going to go buy a copy at Target tomorrow. $17.47 I think according to their website. I might have to fight for a copy, LOL

I haven't had a chance to see it so I'm looking forward to see how they did it.

We're looking forward to getting it in our family, too. We have the other 2 in our DVD movie collection, and they are very good!

        Hoping 3 is as good.

Wow that is so cool! I just bought the first 2 movies, only $6 each with no shipping charges. I'm not doing a commercial for them, but thank you for mentioning this option. On the other hand, if this purchase somehow goes sour I have access to all your information and I'm gonna come lookin' fer ya.

I saw it Sunday night. I think that you all will ....

The church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.

Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.

It was $19.99 at Target. I guess the $17.47 was their website price. I'll be watching it later tonight.

Re: Who has seen the new 'Left Behind' movie?

I just saw this movie over the weekend, and in my opinion it was terrible. I read all the books as soon as they came out and my girlfriend is up to book 9. After the movie, we just looked at each other, shook our heads and said- "That was really bad!" If you didn't read the books, you would be literally left behind, or left out. They referenced people that had not been introduced, referenced events that were not explained, and who recalls from the books the president having such a profound role? He completely overshadowed the real Tribulation Force, whose purpose was not even explained inthe movie. Why the buildup concerning the (CIA or Secret Service?) agent and her relationship with the president? It seemed the movie's producers took a very small, insignificant portion out of the book and blew it up (literally) to sensationalize Carpathia's international war and the defiant American president standing up to him. The REAL story was the steadfastness of the Tribulation Force and what they endured. That was barely addressed. And that last scene? A missile supposedly coming from space right into Carpathia's penthouse, killing the president? And then Carpathia walking out of the flames in a very badly done special effects scene? Gimmeabreak. Wasn't in the books.

Notice that LeHaye and Jenkins weren't even mentioned. I doubt they wanted to be associated with this loser. What a waste of $3.99 at Hollywood Video.

I saw it the first day Walmart sold it, a couple of weeks ago. Yes, it was at best inspired by the Left behind series rather than based on. However, I thought it was fairly well made and the acting wasn't too bad. I think Louis Gossett Jr did an outstand job and Gordon Currie's acting is good and makes a convincing Carpathia. I wish they kept the other Bruce and the thing about the wine...huh? In one scene, Buck has a vision. That was fascinating, but plausible? At least there is the dramatized book on CD that keeps to the book exactly. Does anyone else think it's dangerous to play these roles that Currie plays: he plays Satan in a SciFi series and the Anti Christ?
