About Michael Card's song: God's own Fool
Did the thread get lost in the crash?
I wanted to provke a discussion among the youth as at first glance, it does seem unreasonable to call God's Son a fool--but as the song goes on and the scriptures come to life in one's head , you get the msg. I wanted to impress on these kids that it is okay to feel "the fool"-- to seem foolish in class for believing Our Intelligent Designer, and for standing for rightousness in the face of "majority passion" on issues like abortion etc. Because we follow Someone else who was a 'Fool' in the eyes of the World--- but His wisdom is foolishness to the perishing.
So in the end its the its the World that is the fool and to be called a fool by the world must mean one is very Wise indeed, and that is okay because like Paul , we too we should be fools for the cross of Chrsit and His righteousness.
Thanks for all you help on this one Sojourner. I have so appreciated it. I didnt see the subsequent postings as I was away , and I couldnt log onto WEDGE yest early morn. Now I know it carashed.
