Re: Israel fears EU may push for peace in 2013

    Hi Cornerstone33

Very interesting and their suspicions are most likely correct. The only thing I would change is the fact it will probably be all the major powers and not just the EU.

    From your article..
Khalid said that the Palestinian leadership is happy however, that the EU has come to the conclusion that the direct talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians in its current format are useless. “This is yet another success for Palestinian diplomacy,” he stressed.

I suspect they believe it will be necessary to take stronger steps as each poll coming out shows Israelis..

Netanyahu set to win Israel election but rightists gain: polls
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party is set to win a parliamentary election on January 22 although the popularity of a far-right party opposed to Palestinian statehood is growing, polls showed on Friday.

There has always been a secondary plan as far back as the Bush era which the Palestinians have supported but Bibi has firmly rejected.
The plan to send in international troops to divide, then approach Palestine and Israel in direct talks.

    Once again from your article..
The emphasis from their perspective is not on actual direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, but rather on the essential need to move ahead quickly to a permanent-status solution, because the EU recognises that without a solution, things could go downhill on the ground.”
The thinking in this plan seems to be when reality hits both sides that the world means business, cooperation will emerge.

But of course they don't realize God also has a plan.

Adding to this is the pressure to get all the smaller "unions" completed, so the larger ones can be finalized for the sake of the economy.
Right now the one world economic system is stressing under the pressure of not quite being finished. When you convert to a new "system" the most dangerous point is just before the last step to the new system is finished.

The thinking seems to be once it is finished the lagging countries will have to conform??? Also the "unions" and the freetrade deals must be completed for the economies to recover.
