A Dog Named Christmas

I just watched this movie. It was wonderful and warm and a tear jerker. I love movies like this. It shows that there's still a glimmer of good in the world of movies. Next on the list is a Christmas movie done for Jeanette Oakly series Love Comes Softly. And I always love A Christmas Carol. Actually the version done by Disney, the animated one with Jim Carry(whom on most days I would not even watch) did a very good job as Scrooge. I love the conversion scene. My all time favorite one is from the 1950's with Alister Sims. He dances around the room claiming that after his night he doesn't know anything, he never did know anything, but now he KNOWS he never knew anything. It reminds me of the morning after my conversion! I ran around with tears exclaiming I didn't know before but now I know Jesus is real. I remember it every time I see the scene in the movie. We also watched It's a Wonderful Life. Course they were quite confused on angels role in heaven, but the just of the movie is a tremendous reminder to make sure we count our blessings no matter what is happening in our lives. So very refreshing from the junk on tv everyday. Anyone else have a favorite? Brother Issachar I'm thinking maybe you would like the dog movie. It is quite about a simpler life unfettered by the things of the world. I hope if you haven't you could. It reminded me of how I would love things to be in my world too. I need to work on that....becoming unfettered by the things of this world. " God bless us, everyone."

Yeah it sure was. Love this time of year when you can watch a whole movie with no bad language and all that goes with that. Working on decorating, I love the colors and lights.

Is this available on video or was it on TV? I'll have to look for it. Would a 3 (almost 4) year old enjoy it?

One of my favorites is the Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven. Yes, it is Hollywood and isn't theologically correct about angels but it has a great message, IMHO.

JudyAnn it is available on DVD. It is a few years old. If you have Hallmark channel it may be on that. Yes, it is fine for a child. There are some sad moments and some violence due to flashbacks from the dad who had been in Vietnam. So while I think it's ok you may want to watch first before and decide for yourself. But is such a great movie. My sister too loves the Bishop's Wife. I like White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. It is another feel good story with great music and dancing. From growing up Rudolf, Frosty and the Grinch were yearly favorites. Now a days it seems there is no more anticipation for the kids. Everything is instantly as your fingertips. No wonder the attention span has eked down to almost nothing. Same with us grown ups. I cherish those times in my childhood. Anyone else with fond memories from Christmas in your childhood?
