PlumBob here - on Tasarwen's computer...

THIS article by Jack Kinsella is surely worth a read. You won't regret it.

I've got a few unsaved friends who are going to get this, too. Seems to me it's a great witnessing tool, especially for this time in history.

      Greg,
Even a greater treat is to meet her and PB in person. We were blessed. Perhaps, we'll meet you and your bride for some BBQ.

Excellent article! I have often thought of the generations of people who have relied on food stamps and section 8 housing, government provided healthcare..it's a cycle that seems to just continue on and on. It's all part of a specific goal, reliance on the government which will ultimately lead to control by the a/c.

        Ok..I was a little disappointed Tasarwen didn't actually post..but you'll do PlumBob

Sure did enjoy this article, too.
My little family watched a show on Netflix about Ayn Rand and Atlas shrugged...and here it is again.
          Thanks for sharing!

            Re: Fantastic Kinsella Article

One rule .. just one rule, would DRASTICALLY change the whole voting/taxing/percentage/whatever situation.

1.) Anyone receiving any funding from the Federal or State governments, cannot vote.

It is a conflict of interest.

I'm fairly certain too, that how much welfare payment, food stamps, etc. that a household receives, is based on the number of folks living in a given residence and the total income of that residence. So, if everyone that has a relative receiving any sort of government aid .. except perhaps SS since they did pay into that robbed fund .. would help those relatives with food, shelter, utilities, car repairs/maintenance, gasoline, medical .. whatever .. AND do what the government won't or can't do; that is, help them find work. Now, if they reported to the social services office that they gave X amount of dollars in aid to this particular household, then their benefits should be reduced by that much. Now this would be a huge hardship in most cases, on the helping relatives/friends/churches, that they would be HIGHLY motiviated to see to it that the helpees became productive.

There are only two other solutions that I can think of: 1.) Leave things alone and let them go where they go or 2.) Just cut off everyone from aid. The downside to that is that cities would quickly become uninhabitable, commerce would stop, trucks and trains would be stopped and robbed and a LOT of people would be killed.

The bottom line is, the system has to stay as is until it fully runs itself into the ground, or those on the government welfare system, have to be removed. If anyone has another thought on how that can happen that is different from the "relative help" above or the cold turkey method, I'd be interested in hearing it.

They government will not give them, for example, a year, or two years or five years .. and you're out - Do something productive by then. What the government will do is shift things around. e.g. Extend unemployment benefits .. out to what? 99 weeks I think it reached in some cases? That allowed them to report not as many people on welfare. But whether they give someone welfare or give them extended unemployment benefits, it's all still public money. The government is clever (they think) at giving names to many same ol', same ol' programs. Instead of saying, "Hey America, we're about to increase the national debt and thereby, tax burden on you and your children and their children" they prefer to say, "QE2, QE3, jobs bill, tarp, etc., etc.

Just some thoughts on this ...
            Issachar
The church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.

Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.

Psalms 122:8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Musing over Issachar's last post. Unfortunately, I believe that the "entitled" mind set that is out there in a huge percentage of those receiving some form of govt. aid--and I absolutely don't include SS in that, is such that it cannot be fixed. I believe that this is similar to what the Bible calls a "reprobate" mind and is a spiritual problem as well as an economic problem. This is how the online Dictionary defines the word--and you may find it shocking--as I did--note the reference to salvation: rep·ro·bate   [rep-ruh-beyt] noun, adjective, verb, rep·ro·bat·ed, rep·ro·bat·ing.
              noun
              1.
a depraved, unprincipled, or wicked person: a drunken reprobate.
              2.
a person rejected by God and beyond hope of salvation.

Shocking, no. Paul was very clear that people who do not work should not eat. Our society has for the last 50 years, rewarded bad behavior. I think that children and the elderly should always always be taken care of. Able bodied adults who do not work? Give a hand up and a boot in the derrier.

Issachar: I think the old system of requiring folks to own land in order to vote was a way of ensuring that the voter actually had a personal stake to lose in the election. If the voter simply is "on the take" what possible reason would that person have to stop the theft...other than moral?

                  Let me interject here -

I posted this article because of the way Kinsella addressed the Prophetic implications of this current situation, and not the political implications.

That being said, I'm not sure we can properly discern the line between them any more, but . . .

                  OK, 'nuff said

that was the law almost everywhere for a very long time..... our founders realized that the human nature of those receiving a handout would cause them to vote for those promising the best free lunch.......

They remembered that the Romans gave bread and circuses to pacify the mob..........and how the chaos of the Greek govt (the Polis) bankrupted and finally destroyed the Athenian Democracy and empire .......

Thanks y'all, for your kind words about me coming back. Yes, it really is me this time. PlumBob bugged me to death about coming back, so I will. However, most of my time is taken up with being a cat slave, so I might not be able to be here as much as I'd like.
