  • Fed hawks say central banks can't solve fiscal woes

The U.S. Federal Reserve and other central banks must not succumb to calls for additional help from monetary authorities in the face of high budget deficits, two top Fed officials said on Friday.

Using the Fed as a printing press to solve the U.S. deficit problem would unleash the "sinister beast" of inflation and "is not an option," Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher told the Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Supplier Development Council.

"Our nation has a crying need for public leadership to correct what's wrong in the economy," Fisher said. Monetary policy, he said, "cannot do it alone," but "must be complemented by responsible fiscal policy."

Interesting and funny, at the same time.

True, people/nations should take fiscal responsibility. But, that other stuff? Is he trying to be funny? Or is he ignorant of our entire "money" system? FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE ought to tell him something.

Using the Fed as a printing press to solve the U.S. deficit problem would unleash the "sinister beast" of inflation and "is not an option," Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher told the Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Supplier Development Council.
Did Mr. Fisher actually think that his comments would stay contained with the Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Supplier Development Council?

I am concerned even more deeply if anyone believes this stuff. To what does Mr. Fisher attribute the thousands of percent inflation since the inception of this entity that he is a part of? Where does he think that "money" is coming from just in the past half dozen years for all these bailouts (inflation), QE-I&II&III (inflation) ..., 'jobs' bills (inflation), foreign 'aid' (inflation), deficit spending at increasingly high rates (inflation), etc., etc.?

I believe Mr. Fisher & Co. is being something less than honest. Has he checked to see just to whom the world's debt is owed?

The Matthew Henry Commentary has something interesting to say on that Proverb 20:23 ..

      Proverbs 20:23
This is to the same purport with what was said Pro_20:20. 1. It is here repeated, because it is a sin that God doubly hates (as lying, which is of the same nature with this sin, is mentioned twice among the seven things that God hates, Pro_6:17, Pro_6:19), and because it was probably a sin very much practised at that time in Israel, and therefore made light of as if there were no harm in it, under pretence that, being commonly used, there was no trading without it. 2. It is here added, A false balance is not good, to intimate that it is not only abominable to God, but unprofitable to the sinner himself; there is really no good to be got by it, no, not a good bargain, for a bargain made by fraud will prove a losing bargain in the end.
I underlinde a phrase that I think is very pertinent to today.
