The End of MWM

Greetings all,

Letting everyone know that after somewhere around 28 years, when our annual hosting expires on 08/24/2025, Millennium Weekend Ministries we will not be renewing. Lack of interest for the past many years makes it clear to Esther and me that it does not make any sense to continue to keep the site running.

Many thanks to the handful of folks that have stuck it out with us. Perhaps very soon we shall all meet when we hear the glorious voice of our Savior calling us home to the Father's house. Certainly any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, repenting with a "broken and contrite heart" (Ps 34:18 and 51:17) will find mercy and will indeed be caught up together to meet our Savior in the air.

What a glorious day that will be.

In Christ alone,
Andy

Not a big quake, but we were at the epicenter! Woke up out a a sound sleep, with the dogs barking. It was a short, solid quake.

    Magnitude 3.5

Glad you are ok AND got experience this earthquake, lol. I've felt two earthquakes in Illinois which is so rare. Because they were so small, it was kind of cool thing Sure wouldn't want to experience anything big.

I am a native Southern Californian and have been though all the big quakes without a scratch... (Thank you, Lord!)

Hi Janet--last night apparently there were EQs all the way up the NA Coast.
We had one on Vancouver Island again.

Wendy, what is the NA Coast?

Lewis, who sang the "Ring of Fire"? From the 70's? Disco? Were you a disco duck? Just playing. I've got the tune in my head but can't remember the year or band or lyrics. How does it go?

I got a feeling more quakes along the Ring of Fire will happen before the day is done...

Re: experienced this earthquake last night

Even smaller earthquakes can be devastating and terrifying for those that are not equipped to handle them and/or never been in one. The same quake in the West would hardly even be noticed. I can't imagine feeling one where we live - I'm sure it would be quite scary.

It's something how each area is equipped for what is normal for them. Yes, we endured now the worst summer since records began in the 1800's - but by God's grace we live in an air conditioned environment. We live in a home with central air, walk a short distance to our cars that within minutes of running it the AC cools it down to an acceptable level (you can't hardly buy a car down here w/o it being equipped with AC), drive to our work-place where (again) it's cooled with AC and then back home. Even the vents for our homes are near the ceilings because cold falls and heat rises. Since there are far more hot months than cold the vents are up high whereas in the north vents are down low due to more months of cold than warm/hot. Furthermore, I know up north central air in homes is not as common. PPL are left with trying to cool homes with window units which are nowhere near as efficient nor effective at all-room cooling (of course).

Move to the winter months - the South is paralyzed by a couple inches of snow, the north laughs at 6".

Florida is used to hurricanes and can withstand some nasty ones - the upper east coast...not so much so (as we saw this summer).

Anyway, y'all get my drift and already know all these musings and observations.

I'm not Wendy but the NA Coast = North Atlantic Coast.

Wasn't the song Ring of Fire from Johnny Cash?

That's right! I love Johnny Cash. Definitely not Disco

Thanks Andy. Wanted to make sure. There were EQs up the NA Coast last night? Definite uptick. Orange County, CA.
