Freaky! Just had an earthquake here. Never felt anything like it. WOW!
Still little aftershocks. 5.8 20 miles south of Lake Anna Nuclear Plant.

I have friends that felt it in Columbus, OH.

We had one in Colorado Springs this morning. I didn't feel it here (closer to Boulder).

The whole country is shaking.

We had a 5.3 at 11:46PM Monday night SW of Trinidad Colorado, of all places. With aftershocks. Felt nothing here in Colorado Springs, but then we were already asleep. "Earthquakes in various places"?

A powerful earthquake rattled Washington, D.C. today, prompting evacuations of the Capitol, the Pentagon and many other area office buildings.

Authorities said the quake was 5.8 on the Richter scale, and the epicenter was near Fredericksburg, Va. Early reports said the quake was felt up and down the east coast.

The quake epicenter is near Mineral, Va. The North Anna Power Station, a nuclear power plant in Louisa County, Va., is nearby.

2 nuke reactors taken offline after quake in Va.

Federal officials say two nuclear reactors at the North Anna Power Station in Louisa County, Va., were automatically taken off line by safety systems around the time of the earthquake.

It was centered less than 11 mile from a nuclear power plant. Have heard nothing about any effects. I guess that's good.
