  • They Just Can't Stop, Can They .. ??

They just can't stop spending in excess of income. Mankind is on a roll. They can't say, "Hey, we have to stop spending so much and stop accumulating debt or we're going to be in some BIG trouble." Nope. "Today we're ok .. so a little more debt can't hurt, can it?" This is why, historically, that the masses of a nation where the economy collapses and society falls into a chaotic mass as needs can no longer be met, just mill about wondering, "What happened?!! One minute, all is well .. the next, everything is falling apart! How could this happen so 'suddenly'??!!"

It didn't. It's been happening for a long time. It just became apparent is all.

People don't understand the end of their thinking when their thinking is, "I'll maintain my cushy standard of living at any cost." They wouldn't be thinking like that if they understood what that cost really is; a forced, much lower standard of living than they would have had, had they chose to live simpler and get out of debt. "Forced", in more ways than one. Forced by economic law, to lose most of what they had, but also, forced by someone(s) to live here, go here, don't go there, etc., etc., and also forced to do/react according to the actions of marauders. It is quite the despairing situation.

Because the above is inevitable (see: history) because the intrinsically selfish sin nature that man is born with, it behooves one to be found, in Christ. In Him (only through being born again) is rest, peace .. contentment, joy .. everything and more that one thought they could achieve by getting more and more and more .. even when crossing over into debt to keep on acquiring, things. But the things of this "world" cannot satisfy .. ever. The unending attempt to be satisfied by the things of the world will always result in more and more bondage which will result in more and more effort to acquire "stuff." It is an oft repeated, downward spiral. The only way out of it, is to look to the Lord, repent, ask forgiveness of your sin and be cleansed by the blood of the Lamb; the dear, only begotten Son of God who went to the cross, willingly because of love, to take the penalty of our sin; that is, death. So in Him, we have life as He has already conquered death.

I thought of the above, mostly, when I read this morning that the central banks are going to continue to infuse massive amounts of debt into the financial systems today in order to "keep it going a little longer."

HA! I was going to insert the (AP) link here to where they were talking about doing this infusion (which was "lifting" the markets today, but I took too long and now the article is gone. But it doesn't matter really because I remember that often an AP link will go to a whole different article because they seem to not want references to things they said in the past, to stick around. You'll see it in the news somewhere today. QE3: just another name for what they do all the time anyway. It's just when they feel a need to ratchet up the rate of debt growth, they like to give it a name for public consumption.

The church is on Earth to save souls from a lost world, not to save the world from lost souls.

Man learns about history, not from history. To learn from history requires wisdom. Cut off from God, he has none, so history repeats; no new thing under the sun.

I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken - dylan

Psalms 122:8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
