6/19/2015 -- Mount Sinabung erupts multiple times -- Amazing HD views

      Published on Jun 18, 2015
Indonesias Mount Sinabung Volcano was placed on high alert for a large eruption this past week.

Over the past few days (leading up to June 18th 2015) multiple large blasts occurred, sending ash flows (pyroclastic flows) down from the volcanic summit.

Several HD views provided by the Indonesian government show the size of the flows to be very large, and the number of events is growing each day.

Still waiting for the large eruption that officials issued alerts for.

More on the expected "violent" eruption here:

          1. Cumbre Vieja Volcano – La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain
A future eruption of Cumbre Vieja could be catastrophic. Geological evidence revealed failure of the volcano’s west flank is possible, according to Volcano Live, and would result in a massive tsunami “which would cover the whole Atlantic Ocean.” The mountain is the Canary Islands’ most active volcano.

          2. Katla Volcano – Iceland

          3. Krakatoa Volcano – Krakatoa, Indonesia

          4. Mauna Loa – Big Island, Hawai’I, U.S.

          5. Mount Merapi – Java, Indonesia

          6. Mount Pelée – Martinique, Lesser Antilles, Caribbean

          7. Nevado del Ruiz – Central Columbia

          8. Popocatépetl – Mexico

          9. Mount St. Helens – Washington, USA

Hundreds evacuate as Mexico’s‘Volcano of Fire’ erupts

COLIMA, Mexico (AFP) - Hundreds of people were evacuated from villages around Mexico’s “Volcano of Fire” and an airport closed on Saturday amid fears an eruption could escalate to become the biggest in a century.
Ash from the Colima Volcano, as it is also known, rained down on nearby communities while lava flowed down its flanks, prompting authorities to seal off a 12-kilometer (7.5-mile) area around the crater.

I had never heard of "Kick 'em Jenny" volcano. Apparently it got it's name from the local fishermen, whose boats are rocked when it is ejecting lava, under water, like being kicked by a mule, which is a "jenny", to them!

                Thursday, 23 July 2015
Bermuda Triangle volcano Kick 'em Jenny which can lower the density of the water causing ships to sink showing increasing signs of activity

The alert level on the Kick 'em Jenny underwater volcano has been elevated to orange.
This means there are highly elevated levels of seismic and/or venting activity and eruption may begin with less than twenty-four hours' notice.

The SRC also advises that the alert level system is primarily for Grenada.
Currently, the volcano is most dangerous for ships and boats since the gases released by Kick 'em Jenny can lower the density of the water causing them to sink even if it is not erupting.
For this reason there is an exclusion zone around the summit of the Kick 'em Jenny.

Per Dutch, "The location of the Earthquake is just 30 miles from Cleveland volcanic complex. Cleveland volcano has recently sent off a few ash plumes, thus this earthquake might be the sign of a coming larger eruption in the area."

Alaskan Volcanoes ready to pop? Another major quake a mag 6.3 at Redoubt Volcano after mag 6.9 at Mount Cleveland Volcano!
After an incredible week of seismic activity along the Gulf of Alaska registering more than one hundred small to large earthquakes around the Mount Cleveland Volcano just west of Nikolski Island, another swarm has started around the Redoubt Volcano just west of Anchorage with another major quake a mag 6.3 - 71km SSW of Redoubt Volcano, Alaska.
It would suggest the volcanoes are ready to pop with so much seismic activity going on in the area..Stay tuned

Today's quake was the 10th major quake to strike in July and the 85th of this year!

Is volcanic sulpher to blame for the deaths of one third of Icelandic sheep? A micro insight as to what will happen when the big one goes bang!

Is sulphur from the Holuhraun eruption to blame?
Over one third of Iceland's sheep have died this year and scientists are at a loss as to why.
Some 5,000 sheep died this spring in Iceland in baffling circumstances.
And is it a micro insight as to what will happen when the big one goes bang, causing death of humans, livestock by the million and the death of agriculture as the world is plunged into a winter darkness?
The latest theory is that the deaths were caused by sulphur released by the Holuhraun volcanic eruption.
The unexplained deaths, hitting West and North Iceland worst, remain an enigma.
According to Jónas Elíasson, Professor of Engineering at the University of Iceland, the answer could be digestive complications caused by ingesting volcanic sulphur.
“When the ash cloud moves over the country from the east, it is often accompanied by rain,” explains Elíasson.
“The rain cleans the sulphur out of the air and snow does the job even better.
When the snow melts in the spring, the sulphur remains on vegetation and in the soil.
” Ewes are particularly vulnerable during the spring lambing season and sulphur can disrupt their digestive system, leading to malnutrition and starving to death.
Elíasson explains that an in-depth study of correlation between the sheep deaths and sulphur precipitation is possible.
Other suggested causes for the unexplained deaths include the cold weather and poor-quality feed.

7/17/2015 — YELLOWSTONE ROAD MELTS — NEW “GEOTHERMAL FEATURE” CAUSES ROAD DEFORMATIONS
                        JULY 17, 2015 MICHAEL JANITCH

A well used road at the Yellowstone National Park supervolcano is melting due to a new “geothermal feature” forming below ground.

This has happened before, however this time around, instead of blaming it on “hot weather” / “the sun” , officials are admitting the melting of the road is actually due to a new geothermal feature taking form.

Now , July 17 2015, Upper Terrace Drive near Mammoth Hot Springs is closed, measured with subsurface soil temperatures exceeding 152F / 69C.

Four days ago (August 8, 2015) an earthquake forecast warning was issued for possible M4.0 earthquake activity to strike Northwest Nevada.

Northwest Nevada has now been struck by a M3.7 earthquake — a few miles North of Soda Lakes Volcanic complex, and a few miles South of Black Mountain dormant volcanic buttes.

The last eruption was 1940: Ecuador's massive Cotopaxi volcano one of the world's highest rumbles back to life!

The volcano is not erupting, the Institute stressed.
Still, authorities are monitoring the activity and the Institute issued a warning about one of the world's highest active volcanoes, popular with tourists.

Ecuador’s government declared a nationwide state of emergency Saturday to prepare for a possible major eruption of a snow-capped volcano south of the nation’s capital, Quito.

The decree, which includes suspending some constitutional rights and banning media from publishing unauthorized information, will allow the government to redirect budgeted funds for a possible emergency and prevent rumors from inciting panic, President Rafael Correa said in his weekly television and radio address to the nation. The measures will last up to 60 days.
